London to
Brighton a taxonomy based on the world’s biggest classic mini gathering
What is L2B? and why do you care?
London to Brighton is an event that takes place every year around the beginning of summer that is organized by the London & Surrey Mini owners club. Both members of the club and the general public can take part in the run and every year thousands of people come from all corners of the globe to partake in the run with their minis. This brings a variety of people to the run and really makes a one of a kind atmosphere. The run is comprised of a nights camping and entertainment at Crystal Palace park where you bring the cars to their line up and spend a night socializing with other owners as well as walking to the pub for a cheeky pint or two to relax! The next day is up bright and early to collect a “run pack” which includes
Run Plaque, Run Sticker, Run T-Shirt and Official Program and some other bits supplied by some of the sponsors of the event. You then drive 52 miles approx. in convoy with the other minis, which can be up to and exceed numbers of 2,500 minis. I’ve always had a love for minis especially the tiny classic ones it’s no wonder when I was asked me to come along to the London to Brighton run I jumped at the chance. The loud engines, the cute design and the variation from car to car just is something you can’t compare to anything else. I just hope that soon I will be the one behind the drivers seat in my own car rather than having to watch from the sidelines.
