World-class
Golf
With two championship courses that have been ranked in GOLF Magazine’s “Top 100 Greatest Courses in the U.S.” list, the golfing experience at Colleton River is unparalleled. The courses are challenging for skilled golfers yet highly playable at all levels. There are two award-winning, 18-hole golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus and Pete Dye, as well as a Par 3 course designed by Bruce Borland. Tee availability is guaranteed at any time of year, and members also enjoy on-site golf lessons and tournaments. With clubhouses on each golf course, there is plenty of room for activities of all kinds. The Nicklaus Clubhouse offers a state of the art fitness center, spa services and sunset views. The Georgian-style Dye Clubhouse looks out over the tip of the peninsula, the Port Royal Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. Both clubhouses offer exceptional settings for social gatherings, events and dining.
The Nicklaus Course Offering classic Lowcountry golf, our Nicklaus Course strikes a wonderful balance between challenge and playability. A true Lowcountry design with visually spectacular holes, it puts a premium on strategic shots and rewards players of all levels with an appreciation for the purity of the game. While there is no best time to play the Nicklaus course, if you time it just right your last three holes meet the setting sun over the beautiful Colleton River.
The Dye Course Our Pete Dye Course is the only links style course of its kind in the Southeast, and stretches over 7,400 yards with unobstructed views of Port Royal Sound and the Atlantic Ocean on 11 of the 18 holes. The small, undulating greens, well protected by pot bunkers, reflect Pete Dye’s famous design approach, and provide never ending challenges to golfers at all levels.
The Borland Course This is a charming 9-hole, par 3 course designed to hone your short irons, putting and chipping. It also offers a relaxing, family-friendly course for less experienced golfers. Winding past shady oaks, fresh water lagoons and native wildlife, it represents an added gem in the Colleton setting.
“I was thrilled to get the chance to work at Colleton River. The land...has unobstructed views of Port Royal Sound and The Atlantic Ocean from 11 holes. That’s unheard of. You don’t get this type of opportunity very often.” -Pete Dye
The Colleton River experience is as diverse as our membership – the homes are designed individually, and there are wide ranges of activities that take advantage of our unique natural setting.
