Faucets If you have noticed decreased water coming from kitchen or bathroom faucets and shower heads, they may just need to be cleaned. Try removing and soaking faucet heads and showerheads in a solution of warm water and vinegar. If that does not work, they may need replacing or you may need to call a qualified repair professional to diagnose the problem.

That means that it is time to tackle some seasonal maintenance tasks for your home. Making regular maintenance important to keep things running smoothly. Here are some suggestions for you to consider this fall: Heating System It is best to have your heating system checked and ready to go before you need it. Periodically inspect the system exhaust vent for rust, damage or deterioration. Also check the fan belt for any cracks or fraying. Check and change the filters monthly, or per manufacturer’s directions, to help your system run efficiently and effectively. Having your annual system maintenance service performed during the fall may help you avoid appointment delays during the busy winter season.
Electrical system To help prevent circuit breaker trips, avoid overloading any one circuit by plugging in too many appliances or devices. If you find that fuses blow or breakers trip too frequently, call a qualified repair professional to find the cause and make repairs. Fireplace and chimney Check around the fireplace and chimney for loose bricks or missing mortar. Have your chimney professionally cleaned so that it is safe to use as soon as the weather gets colder. Gutters Clear leaves and debris from your home’s exterior gutters to avoid damaging clogs and dams, and to keep water draining properly. Smoke alarms Test your home’s smoke alarms to make sure they are operational, and change out the batteries. Getting your fall maintenance tasks completed early will give you more time to enjoy football, fall colors, pumpkin pie, and all the other joys that autumn brings.
Oven Before the busy holiday cooking season begins, make sure your oven is operating correctly. Many homeowners do not realize that range hood exhaust filters should be cleaned or changed every three to six months. Check interior oven lights to see if they are working, and replace them if needed.
