He quickly discovered that the real estate business was about people and being of service to them. After establishing a very successful real estate brokerage business in New Jersey, he was approached by the Belfair Development group to join their sales team in launching their community in Bluffton, South Carolina. The development aspect of the business took Duke to Berkeley Hall, Hampton Hall and Hampton Lake. It was an outstanding opportunity to be involved in the development of some of the finest communities the Lowcountry has to offer. Several years ago he decided to go back to the general brokerage world again which allowed him to work daily with clients and customers. His wife, Linda Delcher joined him as a business partner and together they created a business built on superb real estate knowledge and service. In September 2013 they aligned their real estate practice with Charter One Realty. Duke was born and raised in suburban Philadelphia. During his childhood Duke developed a fondness for golf and he remains an avid sports fan to this day (football, horse racing, and golf). He also enjoys giving back to the community through his membership on the Heritage Foundation Board of Trustees and as co-founder of the Players Amateur Golf Tournament.

It was in those environments that Linda honed her skill set in sales and marketing. Upon arrival in the Lowcountry region she worked for an award winning custom home builder, but it soon became apparent that joining her husband, Duke Delcher in the real estate brokerage business would be a perfect fit to utilize her skills optimally. She continues to hold a Canadian real estate license to compliment her South Carolina license. Linda and Duke joined Charter One Realty in September 2013. Linda was born in England, raised in Toronto Canada and now enjoys life in beautiful South Carolina.

Over 1,750 firms qualified for this year’s RealTrends 500. According to a research report produced by RealTrends, the 500 largest residential real estate brokerage firms in the nation closed over 3.9 million residential sales transactions in 2020. These transactions were valued at over $1.6 trillion and represented over one-third of all new and resale transactions completed by brokers during the year, yet the RealTrends 500 represented less than 0.5 percent of all brokerage firms. RealTrends 500 ranked Charter One Realty as one of the top brokerages in the nation by transaction sides and closed sales. Additionally, Charter One
Realty ranked as one of the top independent brokerages in the nation and was named a member of the RealTrends “Billionaires Club.” This year’s survey represents the most comprehensive collection of data assembled on the leaders of the residential brokerage industry. Numbers are documented by outside accounting firms and/or MLS reports. It took 2,092 transactions to be included in this year’s RealTrends 500, and in 2020 there were 347 firms recording over $1 billion in residential sales, up from 301 firms accomplishing this in 2019.
