North Shuswap Timber Days to host the Lumberjack Show in Chase on Sunday!
They are sharpening their axes and oiling up their chainsaws in preparation for the lumberjacking extravaganza this Sunday in Chase, as part of the Canada 150 Celebrations! The Canadian Lumberjack Stihl Series will once again be at Chase Memorial Park from 10am - 4pm. There will be a beer garden hosted by the Chase & District Festival Society from 12:00pm - 4:00pm. The event will pit the best lumberjacks in Western Canada against one another to determine who has what it takes to make it to the finals. The following events will take place on Sunday: • Men’s Standing Block Canadian Championship • Butcher Block Standing • Underhand Handicap (men 12”, ladies 11”) • Men’s Axe Throw • Men’s Stock Saw • Men’s Double Partner • Unlimited Hot Saw • Jack and Jill Partner • Ladies Stock Saw • Ladies Single • Ladies Axe Throw You don’t wanna miss this, come out and support the local talent and the show!

3:00pm - Kyler Schogen, Edmonton AB Kyler Schogen’s guitar based, feel good music, consists of catchy, bluesy, melodic rock. Their dynamic live shows are all about flowing grooves and heartfelt deliveries. The 4th album, Like Gypsies was #1 on Lethbridge’s CKXU 88.3 FM and was also on Canada’s National Blues and Roots Chart and their just released sixth album, “Moment In Time”, debuted at #6 on Edmonton’s CJSR and is getting airplay on Campus Radio around the world. Starting in 1996 and covering ground from Whitehorse to the Mexican border, they’ve played over 3000 shows and just released their sixth album. 4:30pm - Tanner Dawson, Chase BC Tanner Dawson, 20 years of age and grew up in Chase BC, and began his love of music when he was just 13. Since then he has expanded his musical skill to being able to play roughly 10 different instruments including Guitar, Drums, Mandolin, Bass, Cajun Drum, Doboro, Ukalele, as well as Slide Guitar. He has also learned to play 6 different styles of music so far such as Blues, Swing, Rock, and of course, Country. Tanner dreams to be able to one day be up on a big stage and play for as many people as possible, to share his thoughts and emotions through his music. 8

7:30pm - Don Alder, Vancouver BC Don Alder plays with a passion rarely seen and is one of those acoustic guitar magicians with a signature style that leaves you wondering “How is he making that wall of sound. Ray Daniels, Mgr of Rush says “Alder is one of those guitarists that should be famous around the world”. Alder has been featured in numerous guitar magazines, has millions of youtube views, performed duets with Grammy Winners, Angelique Kidjo and John Parr and has been in shows and festivals that included artists such as Steve Vai, Lee Ritnour, David Foster, Victor Wooten, Sarah Mclauglin, Andy Mckee, Tommy Emmanuel and Billy Sheehan (Mr.Big). His music also speaks for itself as his current CD “Armed & Dangerous” has him nominated at the 2016 WCMA’s for “Instrumental Artist of the Year”, his previous CD titled “Not a Planet” received two industry nominations for instrumental CD of the year. His music combines deeply textured melody and rhythm, soulful singing with haunting lyrics and his guitar fireworks and fabulous storytelling makes his shows highly entertaining and talked about for days. 9

Canada Day Music Series Continued...
9:00pm - Shattered Blue, Kamloops BC Shattered Blue is a high energy Classic Rock band from Kamloops B.C. The band features Corey Yamaoka (bass), Uli Scheck (keys), Renea Denis (lead vocals), Nicole Clay (vocals), Craig Jones (guitar) and Darrell Hanna (drums). The powerful vocals of Renea Denis and great harmonies from Nicole Clay give Shattered Blue a wide range musical selections. The vocals are complimented by the great soloing of Uli Scheck and Craig Jones and anchored by the solid rhythm section of Darrell Hanna and Corey Yamaoka. Shattered Blue covers a wide range of songs from the classics (CCR) to more modern selections (Elle King). The band is also in the process of writing original material for their debut cd next year.
The members of the band have performed extensively throughout B.C. They have been a regular at the Blue Grotto and Music In The Park in Kamloops. They have opened for Honeymoon Suite, Platinum Blonde, and Jimmy Bowskill. They have performed to enthusiastic crowds at Sun Peaks Resort, Hot Nite in the City (Kamloops), New Year’s parties (Coast Canadian Kamloops), and many other private and community events.
