Village of Chase Notice of Disposition of Lands
Please accept this letter to show my support for the Chase Lions proposed Splash Pad. The four communities of Chase, Adams Lake Indian Band, Little Shuswap Indian Band and Neskonlith Indian Band are working in cooperation on this project in order to provide amenities for families and youth with the community. The collaboration on this project demonstrates unity and desire to improve the lives of all community members, which I fully stand behind. As the Village of Chase is part of the Kamloops - South Thompson constituency, which I represent, I have spent a great deal of time in Chase getting to know the community and members of the Chase Lions Club. This splash park will not only benefit the current youth and families in the area, but will also benefit future families that will be attracted to the community of Chase, along with current and future visitors who come to Chase from near and far. This project is vital to the development and growth of the Village of Chase and the surrounding areas. The Chase Lions Club has demonstrated their dedication to this project by fundraising a sizable amount of the funds needed. As the Chase Lions Club has been tirelessly working on this project that will benefit not only the residents of Chase but visitors as well, I am fully in support of their application for funds to complete the splash pad. Sincerely, Todd G. Stone, MLA Kamloops - South Thompson
Pursuant to section 26(3) of the Community Charter, the Village of Chase hereby gives notice of its intension to dispose of that approximately 0.589 hectare portion of those lands legally described as Parcel Identifier: 012-953-997, Parcel C (Plan A634) of District Lot 517 Kamloops Division Yale District Except Plan 27406, shown outlined in heavy black on the sketch above, to Chase DevCo Ltd. for a purchase price of 80,373.38. The nature of the proposed disposition is fee simple. Any persons interested in further information can contact: Sean O’Flaherty, Corporate Officer, Village of Chase, PO Box 440, 826 Okanagan Avenue, Chase BC, V0E1M0, soflaherty@chasebc.ca

It’s 8:15 am when the chain is placed on the collar around my neck. We leave the yard and if I do not obey every command then I’m pulled along. After a bit I simply comply. We meet many others of my background who are also chained and feeling the same humility. We’re in my opinion treated like animals. Why are we treated with such cruelty? Why not just let us tag along free of legatures. I mean come on people we aim to please,do we not. I for one would like to play with some of my own kind but how or where can this be done. Today we passed a place that could be

converted into a meeting place. If my memory serves me right and my memory is pretty good. It was off a street called Elm and although it was not 100 acres in size it was ok and a creek meandered alongside it. Let the leaders of this little hamlet fence it in if that helps but at least then we would have a place to run and mingle and call our own. I think we should ban together and voice our opinion and not relent until our wishes are heard and fulfilled. And that’s all i have to say. Chase Coffee Houses Cancelled submitted by CHASE CITIZENS ON PATROL Chase Citizens on Patrol are sorry to announce that they will no longer be holding monthly Coffee Houses in Chase from January through May. These monthly Coffee Houses have been the main fund-raiser for Citizens on Patrol for many years. During that time they have provided us with a portion of the funds required to operate our many Community Service Programs throughout the spring, summer and fall months. However, due to increased costs for hall rental and insurance, we have determined that the revenue generated by the Coffee Houses is no longer sufficient to make them financially viable unless admission prices were raised significantly. As this would make the evening too expensive for many of our attendees, we have reluctantly decided to cancel the events.
Volunteers from the Chase Citizens on Patrol have worked hard to provide these monthly opportunities for local musicians to perform for a friendly and appreciative audience. The Coffee Houses have also given local residents an opportunity to have a pleasant, inexpensive evening of entertainment in our own community. We do hope that some other group in Chase will step up to operate the Coffee Houses this winter and in the future. For now, we will retain all the sound equipment which is used for the Coffee House, so this could be made available to any group wishing to take over organizing and running the events. Interested parties are asked to contact Chase COP President Rollie Mockford at 250-679-8467 for further information.

submitted by Calyn Collins, Village Lanes
Hello Everyone! Hope you have all had a wonderful week so far! We have had a bunch of exciting things going on this week! From great bowling, to staff parties, to raffle draws and more! We had some exceptional bowling on our Thursday Cash League this past week that needs to be recognized. Bill Pacholok had an outstanding night on the lanes. Bill threw a whopping 955 triple, averaging a 318 for his three games that night. This currently marks the highest triple that has been bowled in a league at Village Lanes since opening in 2013. Great bowling Bill! Did you all know that we have a Village Lanes Facebook Page? If you didn’t, please make sure that you go and have a look. Like us on Facebook for all the latest news and updates in the bowling world! We recently did a Facebook Live Video to draw our big winners for the Village Lanes Bowling Club raffle giveaway! Big congratulations to John Pelcher from our
Wednesday night league who ended up winning the grand prize of $2000.00! Our second prize of $500.00 went to one of our favorites here at Village Lanes, Karen Dennis! And the 1-night stay at the Quaaout Lodge Resort went to Stephanie Boyle from Kelowna! Congratulations to all our winners, and a big thank you to everyone who bought tickets for this fundraiser! You all helped to raise $2500.00 for the Bowling Club which will help to cover costs for tournament entries, youth programs, and even some new team jerseys. Thank you! If you are looking for something to do this weekend, feel free to stop in at the lanes Sunday December 10th to check out our 10-game singles tournament! We have some of the best bowlers from across British Columbia joining us this weekend to battle it out for some cash! We hope you all have a great week, until next time!

Obituary BURK THOMAS ROBLIN
It is with profound sadness & heartbreak on November 28th, Burk left us. He was born May 29, 1954 in Mission, BC, passed away in his home in Chase, BC surrounded by his loving family. He fought a 15 month battle with pancreatic/liver cancer with strength & dignity. Burk worked 36 years for Canadian Pacific Railway happily retiring in May, 2009, he was planning his retirement party for 12 years prior so it had to be a fun, happy occasion, with a live band, dance floor he built & 120 of his closest family & friends! He loved his hot rod, his “beautiful wife”(his words), his children & grandchildren more than life itself. He was a Mr. Fix-it, woodwork, cement work, jack of all trades kinda guy, always there to help anyone with anything, not wanting anything in return. Burk had many, many friends still some close to him from his younger years of being a “wild child”. He loved boating on the Shuswap, the many fun times for the past 9 yrs at the cabin with family & friends, working on the golf course with his buddy Rae, golfing, the many destination & motorhome travels we took, mudbogging, & being able to finish & drive his hot rod. Many thanks to his special friends Dag & Kevin for making it happen this year. Burk is survived by his soulmate & love of his life, wife Sharon, daughters’ Cyndi (Kim) Deck, Chestermere, Alta, Alana (Doug) Hill, Revelstoke, BC, sons’ Michael (Jennifer) Roblin, Claresholm, Alta. Shaun (Kelsey) Roblin, Richmond, BC & his precious grandchildren Hannah & Brooklyn Deck, Dawson & Lukas Hill, Quinton & Elizabeth Roblin, & our newest grandbaby Sawyer Joseph Roblin, his beloved sister Dee Keene (Glenn) Kamloops, Brother Rick (Claudette) Kelowna, many nieces & nephews, & cousins whom he loved with all his heart. Burk was predeceased by his father & mother Gordon Thomas & Eunice Roblin. Thanks to the 8th floor cancer nurses whose compassion & caring was appreciated, special thanks to our sweet angel Alora & the team at Chase home care who went above & beyond to make Burk’s last days comfortable. No service at Burk’s request, an Open House was held in his home this past Saturday to honour him.

HUMOUR THAT WORKS A guy goes in for a job interview and sits down with the boss. brown sugar, sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Cut in the butter with a pastry knife, or two forks, or with your hands until mixture is crumbly. Set aside. Peel and chop 4 of the apples. Add chopped apples, butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon to a medium sauce pan and sauté over medium heat for 8-10 minutes or until apples are tender. Remove from heat. Chop the tops off of the remaining 4 apples and use a spoon to scoop out the flesh. Discard the flesh or save it for another recipe.(See Note) You don’t need to get every little bit out, just enough to make a “bowl” for the filling. Fill scooped-out apples with apple filling from the sauce pan. Top with a generous amount of crumble topping.
