Highway 1 closure in Chase
by Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure
The Trans-Canada was closed Wednesday afternoon in both directions at Chase between Shuswap W Rd and Shuswap Ave due to debris movement on a slope adjacent to Highway 1. No material from the debris movement landed on the highway, but out of an abundance of caution to protect public safety, the highway
was closed while geotechnical engineers assessed the situation.
While the highway was closed to all traffic, access to Chase for emergency vehicles was available, as needed. A detour was available via Highways 97 and 97B. The highway was reopened Thursday, February 9th at 10 a.m. Please check drivebc.ca for updates.

SPRING BREAK CAMP
submitted by Chase and Area Young Learners Association
We want to take the time to thank everyone who supported the CAYLS Kids Store over the holiday season. The funds raised will be put towards creating opportunities for youth and families that would not exist otherwise.
We are preparing to launch some exciting new programs in 2023, and appreciate all of the community support as we fundraise to make these opportunities accessible to everyone.
We are excited to announce that we will be running a spring break camp for kids aged 6-12 that is a continuation of our very popular year round nature education program, EverWild Explorers. This 3-day camp from March 27-29th will take place at Aylmer Road beach from 9am-2pm each day.
Children can be registered at the following link:
https://forms.gle/NgNDh7Za2kJF1niT7
EverWild Explorers is built on the philosophy that all children deserve to learn through play and have access to completely natural spaces to engage their senses, curiosity, emotions, spirit and provide room for them to exercise their physical well-being. We strive to offer a nurturing environment where children can explore their interests at a comfortable, organic pace. Our priorities are play & place-based learning and an un-stressful childhood at each child’s own pace.
