upport can take many forms; this week in Chase two totally different fundraising efforts are happening for exactly the same cause. Roseann Deleuuw, lost her life to smoke inhalation in a tragic house fire in Edmonton just before Christmas this year. Rozy’s death left behind an eight month old who her family is now seeking custody of. This has them incurring court fees, travel expenses and home inspection costs. ily. Janelle Iglesias, a childhood friend of Rozy is putting on a “Joga” session with 100% of the proceeds going to the family. “We were best buds, growing up in a small community,” said Janelle. Suggested admission is $5 and there will be a donation box . “Any amount helps,” said Janelle. Joga, “Yoga for Jocks”, is an athletic based version of yoga that focuses on a unique blend of postures to find balance in strength and flexibility, a variety of breathing techniques. Janelle, a certified Joga Instructor, teaches a class at the University in Kelowna where she lives now. This special fundraiser Joga session, on Sunday, February 1st at 7 pm at the Chase Community Hall, will be more relaxed to accommodate non-jocks. She is planning 10 minutes of warm up and will continue into a nice deep stretch. In addition to your donation, bring your own yoga mat if you have one, water bottle, and a light sweater for warmth during the stretching segment. See page 5 for Hot Dog Fundraiser

Newspaper Seeking Columnists The Sunflower is looking for willing writers to contribute on a weekly or occasional basis. Any topic that you are passionate about is welcome; wildlife, politics, history, parenting, cars, decorating, books or movies, sports, real estate, home repairs, gardening, art, seniors’ issues, fashion, cooking, health, conservation, industry, travel... Even a column “about nothing”, a la Seinfeld, could work. Low committment, write often or occasionally. The more diversity of voices, the more interesting the Sunflower will be for everyone!
