Hamper Society Programs: Senior Meal Program, Community Kitchen, 'Inclusive Cafe' submitted by Chase Hamper Society

Welcome to January 2022! We are starting another year with renewed hope that our world will soon be back to normal, those who lost their jobs will soon have them back, those who are hungry will have enough nutritious food to eat, and we can all live together in harmony once again! We all have our part to play in getting there. We have the wrap up numbers for Christmas 2021: The Chase Hamper Society provided 143 Christmas Hampers, 53 families visited the Community Toy Shop resulting in gifts for 105 children under the tree on Christmas morning! These numbers are all up from Christmas 2020, and prove once again how a community can come together to make sure everyone can have Christmas! Regular Food Bank days have already

resumed with out first day being Tues. Jan. 4. Our next Food Bank day will be on Monday, Jan 17, 5-7PM. To register, please call us at 250-682-6155. We should have our new phone by the end of the week, so we will be up and running on that front! New Programs are in the works! We plan to continue the Senior Meal Program, and launch the Community Kitchen, 'Inclusive Cafe', which will both utilize the newly renovated Hall kitchen and Room A, made possible through Grants applied for by the Chase Hamper Society. Both of these Programs will be run by volunteers. Do you have a few hours to spare? Would you like to lend a hand and help us get these programs off the ground? If you would like to join us and volunteer a few hours a month, please contact us!

New School Kiln submitted by Chase Lions

The Chase Lions Club were very pleased to have been able to help the Haldane PAC and Haldane Elementary School to purchase a new kiln. The new kiln was $4776.80 and badly needed. Their existing kiln was 35+ years old and had become unsafe for use. The kiln is used by all grades kindergarten through grade 7. It has been a wonderful asset for the school, and the new one will be used for many more years to come.
