Play About Farmers to be Performed at Market submitted bu Runaway Moon Theatre

We are getting ready to bring you “The Miraculous (After)Life of Isidro, Patron Saint of Farmers”, a miniature operetta based on a generous farm labourer who lived in Spain in the 11th and 12th centuries. Many miracles were attributed to San Isidro, both during and after his life. Some were about bringing water to dry land, and feeding the hungry. These are somewhat relevant to us, even here, at this time. We are curious to know if it makes sense to believe in miracles in this sciencedriven age????

and Cathy Stubington are designing the show; performers are both local and locally known: Sarah May Redmond, Aidan Sparks, and Christie Watson who we are welcoming to the valley. The play (Between 30 and 40 minutes long) is for all ages. We are performing at the Chase Farm and Craft Market on July 29th at 11am and 12:30pm. Check our website for both outdoor and indoor locations on www.runawaymoon.org website.

In the time of Isidro, storytellers will have performed at market places, a longlasting institution that is unusual in that it has probably changed very little over many centuries! So, we’ve decided to go to Farmers' Markets to tell this tale, where we can honour those who grow our food. We are also using the tradition of Victorian Paper Theatre, that was made to bring operas and theatrical spectacles into peoples' homes. Molly

ROOTSandBLUES still seeking volunteers SALMON ARM, B.C— Contribute to the magic of the 30th annual Salmon Arm ROOTSandBLUES Festival this summer. That’s the message of the Salmon Arm Folk Music Society as it prepares to welcome the landmark festival Aug. 18-21. With just over one month until opening night, volunteer applications remain open for those wanting to help make the beloved summer festival, the first in two years, possible. “If

you’re interested in volunteering, it’s time to fill out your RO OTSandBLUES volunteer application,” says Holly Ketter, volunteer coordinator. “Planning for this year’s festival is in full swing, and we need your help to create a successful return to live music. A festival pass

A one-of-a-kind volunteer shirt

Meal vouchers

Access to the Volunteer Lounge throughout the entire weekend

Access to the volunteer afterparty on Sunday night. This year, Five Alarm Funk will rock the volunteer party
