LIONS CLUB CALENDARS submitted by Chase Lions

Our calendars are from May 1st, 2022 to April 30 th, 2023, with family birthdays, anniversary, and memorial, if you choose to have them on. I would like to send a HUGE THANK YOU to all the businesses and residents who have continually supported us over the years. This year was our 54th year in calendars, and it's one of our great fundraising that we do. I would like it to stay longer, as people

have tended to go paperless. Looking up a business number is faster , all you need is to look up at your beautiful calendar. This year there is not a renewal sheet included, but I will call everyone between November and December if you need some changes on your list. I still have calendars left, so please call me, Jeannie at 250-320-2314, between 9-5 Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Page 11 • May 13th, 2022 • Chase Sunflower Obituary Evelyn Jean Marie Marchiel 1947 – 2022 In loving memory of my mother Evelyn Jean Marie Marchiel. She was born May 13, 1947, and passed away on April 29, 2022, in Salmon Arm, BC. Mom is leaving behind her partner Rod, son Justin (Diana), and her 2 grandchildren, as well as many extended family members. Evelyn grew up in a Montmartre, Saskatchewan. After graduation she moved to Alberta and worked in jewelry, dental, and banking. Evelyn moved to Chase in the early 1980’s where she continued banking but eventually changed careers and worked in insurance. Living in a small town (Chase), Evelyn was a friend to everyone and always had a smile and great story to share. She always loved a good joke or a game of cards. Retirement brought Evelyn closer to the North Shuswap and then eventually to Salmon Arm to be closer to her grandchildren. Nana will be missed dearly. Obituary Karen Ruth McIntyre April 19, 1957 - April 16, 2022 It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Karen. Loving Mother of Malorie Copeland (Nick), Jakob McIntyreCopeland (Chelsea) and stepdaughter Raegan Copeland (Mike). Karen’s life was immensely enriched by the six grandchildren they gave her. Elodie, Rex, Everett, Ryder, Tyah and Easton. Karen was born in Toronto, ON. She migrated west with stays in Thompson, MB, and then Calgary, AB, where she had her children. In 2002 she moved to Lee Creek, BC, where she found her passion in caregiving. Working for Interior Health, Karen helped many aging people stay comfortably in their homes. Karen shined so brightly as a Care Aid, and she will be remembered by so many for her genuine kindness and cheerful, caring nature. In 2017, she moved into her final home in Chase, BC. Karen is also survived by 2 brothers, Dana McIntyre (Marnie and son Skyler), and Ken McIntyre (Evelyn and sons Chris and Mike). Also, her Aunt Beverly (Dave) Edgecombe and several cousins. She is predeceased by her mother, Marigold McIntyre. Thank you to the staff of Shuswap Lake General Hospital, and Kelowna General Hospital. A special thank you to her fellow coworkers she cared so much about. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 11, 2022, in Lee Creek. Please email evkury@icloud.com for details.
