The Chase Fish and Game have just been notified that our big main sign, that has been posted at the corner of Turtle Valley Road and Bailey Road in Turtle Valley, has been vandalized, with spray paint. UNIT #209
It's time for the 8th Annual She Shoe Swaps and the ladies are excited. This is a unique charity event that gives women a chance to shop up a storm and all the proceeds go to two local causes - the SAFE Society and Rosemarie's Fund held by the Shuswap Community Foundation. The unique part is that there are no deductions for expenses, when we say all proceeds, we mean ALL proceeds. Last year we raised $11,237 for the two charities. All this by a group of women (and a couple of really handy guys) who just want to pass on some happiness. The event is now two great ideas - the Raffle and the Sale. The sale starts at 9:00 a.m. and goes until 4:00. Ladies can find fabulous deals on nearly new or gently used shoes, boots and handbags that women have donated. Donors are also rewarded for such kindnesses with draw prizes varying from spa gift certificates, hanging flower baskets to movie tickets and more! When have you ever been rewarded for cleaning out your closet? This is your chance. The shoes and bags are sorted, and the sale is a one day blitz where ladies can purchase most items for $10 a pair or purse. Some really wonderful items

Obituary Lyons, Sidney E.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sidney Lyons after a short battle with cancer. The disease progressed rapidly and he passed peacefully surrounded by his family on April 17th 2019 at the age of 94 years. He lived his life well and fully and loved his family and friends. He was born near Brancepeth Sask, married Arlie Welsh in 1953 and soon after they started their family. He worked in his early life as a farmhand, barber, wood cutter, gas station manager, bartender, cabinet maker and a largescale farmer working 6 sections of land with 4 of his brothers in Alberta. After moving his family to BC in 1970 he worked for Adams Lake Lumber as a grader and snow plow operator maintaining logging roads until he retired at the age of 63. Throughout his life he was also a carpenter building many houses from the footings to the shingles and everything in between. He was always willing to drop everything and help out wherever his expertise was needed and was still dry-walling and doing jobs into his 90’s. He was a creative, precision craftsman and took great pride in doing his best on any project he worked on and was especially proud of the work he did on converting the Anglican Church into a home. He was also a well-witcher and was able to find water for lots of people and businesses over the years with his impressive talent (including several wells for the Kelowna Golf and Country Club). In addition to other interests, he had a passion for and was an accomplished golfer, fisherman and gardener. Every year he couldn’t wait to get out for a round of the golf (and hopefully get his name in the deuce pot), pull out his boat to go fishing on the local rivers and lakes or get his hands in the dirt to plant his 1st crop of radishes. He is survived by his children Nonie (Greg), Ron (Anne), Donna and Les (Darquise); grandchildren Jonathan, Alaina, Jenny and Erica and great grandson Everett; his brothers Lloyd and Sam and his sisters Helen and Jeannette. He was pre-deceased by his wife Arlie; his parents Tom and Catherine Lyons; and brothers Earl, Robert and Russell. Respecting Sid’s wishes, no service will be held. The family will hold a private celebration of his life later in the year. If you wish, please share a “Sid” story with friends and toast “All the Best!” (his favorite toast) to honor his memory and his life. He was and continues to be an inspiration to everyone that knew him and will be greatly missed. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Chase Palliative Care Team, Dr. Terry Clare, Ellen Bovair and all the nurses and care-aids at the Marjory Willoughby Hospice House for the excellent and compassionate care Dad received during his final days.

A man went to visit his 90 year old grandfather. While eating the breakfast of eggs and bacon prepared for him, he notices his plate isn't clean. So he says, "Grandfather, are these plates clean?"
are you sure these plates are clean?"
His grandfather replies, "Those plates are as clean as cold water can get them, so go on and finish your meal."
Later that day, they went out to get dinner. As he was leaving the house, the man's grandfather's dog who was lying on the floor started to growl and would not let him pass
That afternoon, while eating the hamburgers his grandfather made for lunch, he noticed many little black specks around the edge of his plate so again he asked, "Grandfather
Without looking up from his burger, the grandfather says, "I told you those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them, now don't ask me about it anymore."
His grandfather shouts, "Coldwater, get out of the way!"
