Derwyn moved to Pritchard where he and his wife raised three children. He was involved in the Pritchard Community Association and was a supporter of the Chase Legion. Later in life Derwyn made a life change and returned to Manitoba where he enjoyed his remaining years.
Derwyn is preceded by his parents Mary and Thomas, sister Sharon, brother Delmar, and grandson Miles.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Derwyn “Dutch”DerwynTaylor.spent most of his youth in Manitoba until he moved to British Columbia where he worked throughout the province and eventually landed in Kamloops where he worked as an electrician for the Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill until his retirement.

Growing, picking and marketing corn inspired the future of both families to build individual corn businesses. At the time of Peter’s retirement in 2019, Burkholder’s were eager to continue farming corn in the area. Under the mentorship of Peter Murray early on, the Burkholder Brothers, Vincent and Lewis have grown their business into a marketplace of fruit, veggies andAshleycorn. and Jordan have branched out into a new business model on their new property which is adjacent to the age and influence Ashley and Jordan, spent time with Peter in the fields learning the trade and tradition of farming corn in the area. The couple look forward to the future of building a home with the legacy of family and farming together.Jordan, Ashley, Lewis and Vincent, with all other young argrarians continue to appreciate the community and surrounding areas support of agriculture in the valley. All groups strive to work together to support the future and sustainability of agriculture endeavors along with growing the next generation of farmers.
