Rex was born in Kelowna, BC but we lived in McBride, BC. He was christened as a child, his godparents are Ewald & Edith Wolff. As a youth Rex was dedicated to the Lord Jesus at the Cedar Heights Evangelical Free Church. Rex was predeceased by his grandpa & grandma Peter Palamar & Alma Palamar, opa & oma Alexander & Marie Zielke and his dad Robert Michael Palamar also many uncles & aunts on both sides of the family tree. Rex will be sadly missed by his mom, Zilly Palamar - brother, Todd Peter Alexander Palamar, niece Kallie Taylor Palamar, - Todd’s girlfriend, Robin Carey - son, Alexander Ewan Andrew MacIntosh and daughter, Elizabeth Anna Robert Palamar – Tiffany Anna Palamar (boyfriend Lee) - Rex’s girlfriend whom he loved very much, Brandi Verhagen - also many uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family & friends. He was hard working and took pride in everything he did. He worked on a truck at the age of 13 getting it ready for his 16th birthday. In school he was blessed making beautiful pieces in woodworking & metal classes. Rex died very suddenly at the age of 36 at Harper Lake just outside of Chase, his favorite place to ride his motorcycle with his daughter Elizabeth, family and friends. He enjoyed snowboarding and just finished assembling a few more pieces on his street motorcycle just the way he wanted it to look. He always had a story to share with family and friends and had a very special laugh and sparkle in his eyes. We all have our own good memories of Rex treasure them in your heart. Festival of Art in the Shuswap

The Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts returns to the South Shuswap July 21st - 24th, 2016 after running for nearly thirty years. In past years the Festival was presented in Sorrento but this year has been moved to its new home at the historic Carlin Community Arts and Cultural Centre, known as Carlin Hall. The Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts has a mandate to encourage art in the Shuswap area, and is encouraging local artists, young and old, new and seasoned, to submit their works for display and sale. Children are being especially encouraged to submit their works for display, with only a $10 membership fee to The Arts Council for the South Shuswap, and no entry fee per item displayed. The children’s art display in past has brought rave reviews from the public with requests for more in the future. This year’s Festival will feature a 2D and 3D fine art show and sale, workshops, kids activities and exhibit, and back by popular demand will be the gift shop, with a food concession being provided on site by the Carlin Hall Volunteers. This 3 day workshop, from July 21st to 23rd from 10 AM to 1 PM, is designed

to delight and teach the inexperienced and experienced painter alike. Sandra Van Den Ham has created a technique to loosen the participant up to create a unique work of art with layers and generous strokes that make painting fun and heal that need for perfection. Be prepared to get paint on yourself as well as your canvas. Let that inner child out and come on a journey of creation that will release part of the artist within not yet discovered. Paint from the heart – no perfection required. This is impressionistic not abstract. The cost for the three day workshop is $60 per entrant. Sandra lives in Salmon Arm and studied art at Douglas College and brings with her a wealth of experience in painting and teaching and has been an artist all her life. In addition, there will be a Jesse Mast concert at 7:30 at Centennial Field in Blind Bay on Saturday July 24, along with a beer garden with snacks available.
