Summer Programs

Programs that focus on academic, artistic, or craft development are included in the academics and culture thematic area. Youth are expected to explore their creativity and critical thinking abilities and nurture skills that are relevent to fine arts, performance art, life skills life skills life skills design, craft, reading, mathematics, and science.

Programs that are only provided during a typical student’s summer break are identified in this section. These programs represent various themes and are very diverse. A student that is engaged during the summer will continue to develop their interests and skills while they are out of school.

After School Programs

Many schools offer free after school programs. These programs often operate on site directly after the end of the school day. There is great diversity in the type of program offering. By communicating with the after school program coordinator new programs that best suit students interests can be added to the offerings.

Programs that focus on team building and leading, volunteerism and advocacy, and fellowship and character development are included in the leadership and charactar thematic area. Youth are explected to identify their goals and establish steps to meeting them, assess and execute community needs, and learn to build positive relationships with others. leadership

Agencies throughout Cincinnati offer services specifically for youth in need. Whether a youth is dealing with homelessness, health issues, problems in their family or they just require help with school, there are many caring social workers in the city whose job it is to help.
