Tips For Airbnb Hosts Chelsea Herring

Many travelers across the globe have turned to Airbnb for their lodging needs. They’re cheaper than a hotel, and they tend to give a very home-like feeling when staying in one. Because of this, many people have chosen to become Airbnb hosts themselves, using it as an alternative form of income, maybe because they have a large home or a second home they don’t use very often. When becoming an Airbnb host, it’s imperative that you give your guests the best experience possible, otherwise you won’t make it far due to guests likely leaving poor reviews. If you’re interested in becoming an Airbnb host, here are a few tips that will likely help you give your guests the experience they’re looking for.

Engage With Your Guests A big reason Airbnb has been successful is that it provides a much more homey experience, similar to the bed and breakfasts of old. Part of this homey experience involves the hosts engaging with their guests, even if it’s only a small amount such as greeting them when they first arrive. This will give your guests a sense of belonging, and they’ll likely have more respect for you and your home due to having met an actual person as opposed to just having a list of notes from the owner.

Being A Good Concierge Whether it be about the Airbnb itself, or maybe about the surrounding area, your guests are going to have questions. Make yourself available to some extent in case they need help to find something to do or somewhere to eat, or if they have a question about the lodgings. This also falls into engaging with your guests and can help give them the best experience they could ask for.

Stock The Bathroom The bathroom is one of the most important rooms in the house, so it’s important to make sure it’s fully stocked for your guests. Make sure there are plenty of towels and leave extra in an easy to find spot somewhere in the house. It can be unnerving for guests to ask their hosts for towels so just eliminate the need and have backup just in case. Beyond that, stocking the bathroom with shampoo, soap, and other toiletries are all great ways to make sure your guests have a spectacular vacation.

Have A Backup Plan Always have a plan in case of an emergency. You never know what could happen while your guests are staying at your property, so it’s wise to have a plumber or other handyman on speed dial in order to make sure everyone has a great experience.

Being an Airbnb host is challenging and hectic, but totally worth it. Make sure you’re prepared by using some of these tips, and everyone will have a happy time.
