Popular Vacation Rental Myths CHELSEA HERRING

One myth is that you are on your own if something goes wrong during the length of your stay in a vacation rental because there is no hotel manager or concierge to handle any issues.

Not only will problems be heard and addressed, but they will provide warm, personal touches such as local recommendations, books and games for rainy days, welcome gifts, and other things to enhance a guests’ experience.

Another myth is stranger danger.

However, just like Uber and Lyft drivers are vetted, Airbnb hosts are also screened as well.

Another myth is that vacation rentals are taking business away from local hotels.

Most hotels are located near the city centers, whereas people who choose a more organic stay will flock towards a more rural setting.

These two demographics aren’t mutually exclusive which means everyone can still benefit.

Another myth is that visitors to a neighborhood do a disservice to the surrounding homes and decrease the value of a neighborhood.

While there will always be a few unfortunate outliers, the truth is that vacation renters patronize the local economy and add money back into the community as a whole.
