This Is Your Story Brace yourself for the most epic story every written! A story with a villain so treacherous that he puts all the other villains from every other story to shame. How? Because he is the very creator of badness. And who gets to face this terrible villain? You. This is your story. Have you ever thought that the events of returning to live with your Heavenly Father would construct the greatest of all stories? How will people know the adventures that led to your victory or the power of the villain who tried with all his might to capture your soul? The answer is simple: keep a record of your adventures. Sure, journal writing sounds epic and exciting when put in such dramatic words, but at the end of the day it can seem lame. Shove those thoughts from your mind. Keeping a journal not only fulfills a commandment from God it also helps fight Satan. The Book of Mormon prophets often plead, “Oh remember, remember”1. They knew that Heavenly Father’s children would forget His hand in their lives. They would forget the miracles, their testimonies, and how to be truly happy. Leading us to forget is one of Satan’s greatest tools. If you forget who you really are and that Heavenly Father helps you every day, you can become a puppet in Satan’s hands. The Savior commanded, "Write the things which ye have seen and heard..."2 so that you won’t forget who you are, your experiences that have made you a better person, and the testimony that anchors you to Jesus Christ. Now, all you must do is fight the legions of Satan, keep your life pure and true, and have faith in Christ, whom you have never seen in this mortal life. Easy, right? Probably not. But you can do it. In every story good always triumphs over evil. The only variable is how. Now grab your favorite pen, find yourself a journal, and begin your story.
