Lower School News It has been a final week full of excitement and drama for Lower School. Years 3 and 4 excelled themselves in their performance of ‘The Tailor of Gloucester’. What an ambitious and beautiful production. We all enjoyed ourselves immensely putting on this show for our audiences.

This week, Lower School were out and about carol singing, we raised a massive £185 for Winston’s Wish, the school charity. Everyone had great fun at the Lower School Christmas dinner. We loved all the turkey, crackers, singing and raffle prizes. We still had enough energy to put on a wonderful concert on Wednesday afternoon. It was full of great music and wonderful singing. Lower School wishes everyone a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Boarding House Update The Boarding House enjoyed a final festive weekend; the highlights being the Boarders Christmas Feast, the Santa Fun Run and a trip to the cinema. The Boarders have done themselves proud over the last few weeks and we were really impressed by the effort the Year 8 Feast Committee put into helping with the brilliant evening of food and entertainment on Saturday. Congratulations to Polina and Olivia’s families who won the Task Master Challenge and Pablo’s table for winning the quiz.

Thank you to everyone who has helped the Boarders to have a fantastic term, to all the Matrons, Tutors, Gaps, Mr and Mrs Theedom, as well as all the catering and cleaning staff who look after us and the House so well. We say a massive goodbye to Miss Ramsay, Miss Cant, Miss Roberts and Miss Shephard, thank you for all you have done in your time here, you will be much missed. Goodbye also to George (Johnson) who has run a brilliant Media Club this term, the product of which we very much enjoyed watching on Wednesday night. Goodluck to you all in the New Year. Merry Christmas everyone and we look forward to seeing everyone back after a good rest!

Sport Update Wednesday saw the annual running of the Upper School House Football event. This has taken the traditional last week of term slot, but despite tired bodies the boys were brilliant. All the Houses, each with a selected Captain, brilliantly balanced the tight line between being inclusive and being competitive. There were some great goals scored and it was an excellent afternoon.

And finally... Dear Parents Well everybody made it! The last couple of weeks have been both enormous fun and incredibly tiring for children and staff alike. Christmas at Prep School is a truly magical experience and whilst everyone will have their own favourite event of recent weeks (plays, carols, Christmas lunches, Boarders’ feasts and so on) Christmas 2018 will live long in the memory. On a personal note, I would like to thank the entire school community for making me feel so welcome and for making my first term so rewarding and so much fun. Our parents, staff and children all clearly love this place and it is a real privilege to have become a part of it. Have a wonderful Christmas.
