Works by Ibert, Ravel, Massenet & Saint-Saëns

Ulrich studied at the Cologne Conservatoire and the Juilliard School in New York and is a previous winner of the prestigious Rostropovich Competition. In 1984 he became principal cellist of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, with whom he performed numerous concertos. Ulrich is the co-founder of the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and a teacher at the Birmingham Conservatoire. John studied in London & Vienna and is a former Assistant Head of Keyboard at Birmingham Conservatoire.

Andrey Ivanov (piano) Works by Chopin

Timothy is in demand as a concert soloist and on the operatic stage. He has performed at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall and the Kremlin, as well as at Glyndebourne and for Scottish Opera. Anyssa, a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and Oxford University, also studied with Fabio Bidini in Berlin and Paul Stewart in Montréal. Highlights include recitals in Europe, Canada and the USA.

23 APRIL

Andrey gave his first concerto performance at the age of nine. In 2006, he was selected to study at the Central School of Music in Minsk, graduating to the Moscow Conservatoire. He won first prize at the Belgrade and Minsk International Piano Competitions and went on to perform in Moscow, St Petersburg, Belgrade, Brussels and Amsterdam. He is currently studying at the Birmingham Conservatoire with Pascal Nemirovski.

19 FEBRUARY

Carol Hubel-Allen (viola) & Marcel Zidani (piano) Works by Brahms, Elgar & Frank Bridge

Carol played with the BBC Symphony Orchestra before joining Stuttgart‘s Pfeifer Quartet. She then joined the Princeton Chamber Orchestra, Chanterelle Quartet and Staatskapelle Quartet. Marcel is a soloist, chamber musician and composer. He has performed his compositions on Radio 3 and won first prize at the 2018 European Composer Competition and second prize in the 2017 European Piano Teachers‘ Composer Competition.

26 FEBRUARY

Rebecca Rudge (soprano) & Kit Perona-Wright (piano)

Includes works by Ivor Novello, Mancini & Cole Porter Join Cheltenham-born soprano, Rebecca, and accompanist Kit for a varied programme of song’s from history’s great songwriters. Rebecca has performed in recital, opera and for choral and music societies and festivals throughout Europe. Kit, a talented and versatile pianist and conductor, has broadcast on Classic FM and is currently Director of Music at Cheltenham College Prep School.

Timothy Dickinson (bass-baritone) & Anyssa Neumann (piano)

Rebeca Omordia (piano) Works by Beethoven & Schumann Hear Nigerian-Romanian Rebeca, described by the Guardian (Nigeria) as “the virtuoso pianist who cast a spell on Lagos”. She is known as a vibrant, exciting virtuoso throughout the UK and overseas. She has collaborated with an array of musicians, including cellist Julian Lloyd Webber. A strong advocate of Nigerian classical music, Rebecca’s CD Ekele, was described as “beautifully delivered” (Sunday Times).

30 APRIL

Clare Deniz (cello) & Alan Brown (piano) Includes works by Dvorak & Beethoven

Clare and Alan appear together as a new ensemble, Trio Pierné. Clare’s recent performances include Woodville Halls, Reading University, Fairfield Halls, Harting Music Club and Peterborough Cathedral. She studied at The Royal Academy of Music, later being taught by Paul Tortelier and Jacqueline du Pre. Since his acclaimed Wigmore Hall debut Alan has performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra and London Mozart Players.
