ABOUT US...

We are an independent charity, managing some of Cheltenham’s most historic and iconic heritage, cultural and sporting venues, Pittville Pump Room, Cheltenham Town Hall, The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham and the Prince of Wales stadium.

As a multi-function organisation, the trust is driven by a key tenet, to make a difference, to improve the health and wellbeing of the community through a careful blend of community, culture and commercialism. The thread is the DNA that runs through the charity, through the venues, the services and activities it provides to feed mind, soul and body, and its year-round free events that impact significantly on the collective mental health, diversity, community cohesion and sense of wellbeing.

Born out of the Covid-19 pandemic, the community events have attracted thousands, breathed new life into iconic heritage buildings, and sparked a collective community spirit, enabling culture, heritage, entertainment, sport and leisure to be inspiring, inclusive and accessible to all. Hosting large-scale free events brings the community together to celebrate key dates and national events.

Some of the differences we’re making in our community:

Our impact and the positive difference we make is significant. By joining us as a corporate member or working with us as a key event sponsor or supporter, you will enable us to do even more.

The Cheltenham Trust does an incredible amount to support the local community and local charities by putting on wonderful free and affordable events for all to enjoy & to enable charities to use their spaces to help raise much needed funds.

It is therefore so important that businesses support the Cheltenham Trust to achieve these social impact goals and complete the circle of making our local community a better place to be.

OUR PACKAGES

The trust is recognised locally, and regionally, as an awardwinning charity making a positive impact on its community and those who live, work and visit. Its free community events programme was born out of the Covid19 pandemic when it opened outdoor cafes bringing people together in a safe environment at a time of social restrictions. That grew swiftly into free live music and dance events to largescale community events to mark national dates including Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum anniversary; the Birmingham Commonwealth Games baton relay; and the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The trust has established a high profile and reputation for the strength and positive impact of its venues, activities, services and community programme, and is regularly featured in regional and national media and promotions.

It has a strong digital profile and significant online engagement with a wide and diverse audience. It is active and responsive on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. With current engagement standing at circa 1million, reach is strengthened further through partnerships with leading online platforms such as Cheltenham Rocks, SoGlos, and Cheltenham Noticeboard, enabling it to engage with varied audiences.

Our Vision

Our vision is to continue to grow, securing the ongoing and future sustainability of the important heritage and iconic Cheltenham venues we manage; to provide a rich and diverse portfolio of culture, heritage, sport, leisure and entertainment to growing audiences; to support the local and visitor economy, and to continue to impact positively on the lives of the community, making a real difference to the collective mental health, wellbeing and happiness of those in our communities.

As a charity, the trust is able to deliver to a certain level, but it is ambitious and recognises that, through partnerships and working with others, so much more can be achieved. In 2023 the trust invited the community to become partners by launching its first individual membership scheme, enabling people to enjoy a range of benefits and support the charity’s community activities.

Now that is being extended to corporate memberships, giving businesses and organisations the opportunity to work with this renowned charity and develop mutually beneficial relationships.
