PROFESSIONAL WORK

GLENSTONE SERRA PAVILION

Glenstone is constructing a new building specially conceived to house a work by American artist Richard Serra, designed in collaboration with Thomas Phifer, architect of the Pavilions.

The 4,000-square-foot concrete building was commissioned to house a large-scale sculpture that is one of the artist’s most recent works. Visitors will approach by way of the Woodland Trail on the eastern side of Glenstone’s property, following a gently curved path extending from the bridge over the Greenbriar Stream, ultimately entering the building through a single, centered doorway. The boardwalk, structure, and installation expand the visitor experience at Glenstone, adding opportunities for visitors to engage with art and architecture as well as the museum’s surrounding landscape, which is designed by PWP Landscape Architecture.

The competition sites is around 368 acres. It is built on bay fill and located at a central part of the Pearl River Delta area of Shenzhen. PWP envisions the new Tencent Campus to be a flagship technology city and global landmark that will reflect both the values of Tencent and the rich diversity of companies within Tencent’s portfolio. Our concept is creating a clean, vibrant campus drawing from different periods in time, balancing Ancient + Natural with Modern + Hi-tech and finding harmony between Continuity vs Variety.

This project involves many properties and steps. I’m in charge of coordinating design elements and construction sequencing across various scales and phases. Beginning in May 2021, the project is progressing smoothly, presenting both challenges and learning opportunities. My main focus is the landscape design for the main residential house in parcel 2, scheduled for construction in the next 3 years. This complex project has expanded my skills and provided invaluable experience in largescale project management. Working within a dynamic team has been rewarding, and I’m grateful for the chance to contribute to a project that continually enhances my professional growth.

This confidential tech campus + roof park configuration is similar to the Singapore Jewel airport + Salesforce roof park. The planting terraces with seating walls enclosed indoor multifunctional space. Instead of a powerful central waterfall, the core indoor element is a bio-treatment planting space and wood boardwalks. An elevated linear park is proposed with various species and a well-designed paving system. It has similar design elements to Salesforce roof park (play area, cobblestone plaza, linear pedestrian road, and meandering path between trees). We won this competition in 2021. The development will become a critical connection between Central and the harbourfront. Along the waterfront, the site will actively engage to link up the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Tamar Park & Cultural Plaza and the ferry piers, through to Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park by offering a multitude of events, facilities and amenities. The site will be developed into a mixeduse destination with indoor facilities providing various experiences of innovation, cultural and leisure activities. It will be a place where work and play intersect, along with shopping, eating, socialising and leisure. A 6-storey tall aquarium will form the centrepiece of a state-of-the-art shopping arcade, whereby arts, sculpture, nature, culture and theatre all come together.

PWP provided landscape architectural services for the Vanke Headquarters project in Shenzhen, China. The design proposal is based on the Pelli Clarke Pelli Architectural Design Scheme. The client’s vision is about creating a “Botanical Garden” theme experience.

PWP followed this vision and developed the concept of “river delta” - design a one-of-a-kind place that embraces distinct natural heritages across the globe; an international attraction that brings different people and cultures together.
