Because of the trend of fewer children, school-age children become less and less. School began to be left unused. Redesigning and utilizing this predictable open space would make the city more intimate to the residents. Today, there is no way to destroy any part of the city and rebuild it. We could use this release system to change the city little by little. The district structure of Wan Hua continues to grow, such as it population, property, texture... New structure divided Wan Hua’s life apart. Using released school as a new nodes to create send layer network to connect Wan Hua. Considering the current six different sites, and more occurring in the future, they extend different character of tentacles connect to the community.

Analyzing Wan Hua’s texture and how are the residents live in the city. Via the experiences accumulated from history, residents often use the alleys as their daily routes. Other than the social housing near Youth Park, Wan Hua is lack of public space. Using numerous idle space to create public space which meet Wan Hua’s scale. This will solve the problem of the living space shortage in the city.

Space in Between Space in a site beside building is public area. In social housing community, public area is even more important. To prevent social housing become slum in the city, plug in numerous of different culture programs into the site. According to the location of each sites, the culture programs will be different, music, sport, art, academic, and take care. Use turn - over formwork, make a virtual space become materialize, strengthen the user’s idea of public area.

Analyse the lines create from the collide movement of two different element. Power, direction, extension force, dispersion density, push and pull, hardness and viscosity. Use the lines itself and the difference the movement make create new kind of space. Next, use the characteristic of lines to analyse three non-profit institution, then create a new institution, which fit with new type of space create from line movement and the site. New type of space, New institution and the site, three set of lines interact pull and contain each other become the new architecture.

Dumbo Art Center Dumbo Art Centre hold normal exhibition during the year, and a three-day special art festival during Sep. The active during the normal exhibition are more intensive, powerful and specificity. During the period of festival, the movement are fast, multivariate and multi-level. Through two different kinds of movement, discuss two different movements, intensive and extensive.
New York Hall of Science There are four main activities happening in New York Hall of Science - exhibits, demonstrations, participatory and workshop. These four activities has different tension between art piece and people, pople and people, and art peace and movement. Use the directions heavies of the lines to focus on the behaviour of the person and a group of people.
Pure Vision Art Pure Vision Art is about providing studio for someone who wants to enhance their interest in art and spread art. MIQ: Made in Quemoy Compared with the steady and relatively slower development seen in other parts of Taiwan, in the last two years, the Quemoy Islands—situated along the south-east coast of China—enjoys an unprecedented development opportunity in history. In the past 60 years, due to limitations posed by the cold war and confrontations between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, Quemoy has long been deprived of development opportunity. Its resources have not been utilized efficiently. However, in recent years, the overall atmosphere becomes more favorable for crossstrait reconciliation and exchanges. Investors and opportunists flock in with the hope of creating their fortune by utilizing Quemoy’s geographic and institutional advantages. It seems likely that Quemoy may evolve into a city of half a million, or even one million population—which means a big consumer market. As a result, various proposals have been made, such as turning Quemoy into a “charter city”, setting up a casino, building a cross-ocean bridge to connect the island to China, and even establishing a cross-strait high speed-rail system, etc.. What is Quemoy’s future? Should it become a backyard of Xiamen, China? Or should it continue to position itself as one of the many outlying subsidy islands of Taiwan? Or should it pave its own way of development? “Made in Quemoy” is about a comprehensive urban development plan for Quemoy. This team proposes a development plan for Quemoy as an “island-city” and projects its population at half a million. Reviews, assessments and evaluations will be made on existing infrastructure and overall environment in Quemoy. Improvement plans would be proposed, including transportation, energy supply and garbage disposal. Considering the special characteristics of the Quemoy Islands, this project will lay more emphasis on energy-related issues, including energy production and distribution, food production, low-carbon-emission, etc. Sustainable development being the basic concept, this project hopes to come up with a comprehensive, sustainable and feasible development model for Quemoy.

Settlements of Quemoy formed from the axes of Feng Shui, and these axes of Feng Shui can not feel from everyday life, all about huge scale of mountain, water, and wisdoms of the ancients. Via a thorough analysis of Quemoy, re-planning the zoning and reconsider about after Quemoy become a fifty thousand residents island. Whether the residences area are sill follow the old axes or is there a new axis to produce?
Produce new axes
First, Define different levels of axes from practical to symbolic one, which include roads, rovers, green belt, and line of vision. Along the axes, residential area will settled, which will define the axes even stronger. Moreover create small axes in between big axes, use common square and fengshui pond as terminal points. The passage in the community are pedestrian until collection to the main road. Increase the opportunities for resident tp experience the new axes. On account of the axes, old settlement will also expand or be regenerate. Water

Stair is a special place that when we step in, the space is twisting in time. So we want to have this space experiment in this special place, provide a infrastructure for people to think about what is the relathionship between space and time. especially when people are in motion. And the reflective material also adds another dimension into the space, people can see more than just themselves, but the twisted illusions and reflection of other people and movement. It is an interactive process that is generated between people and this surface. The material for fix nodes are consider about strength, flexibility, and deviate value. Brad tack can connect more than two panels in one node at the same time still keep flexibility between all the panels.

Unit Today, almost everything is produced by the factory. When we see all the processes of a factory. The automation is everywhere in the produc- tion process, however, it still needs a lot of workers to make it work. This result also cause factory now is a centralization of labor and technology. Yet, now the concept of open resource is well developed, which can lower the difficulties of production. For example, by using tools such as CNC and 3D printer, product can be made easily. Every element of a product by using the open resource designed blueprint made at the form lab in the neighborhood. And constructing by themselves each parts combing them into a product. This means we don’t really need a centralized factory in the future, instead, the decentralized of factory occurs. This is a revo- lution of industry and is happening now. This trend is a new direction of design in product and machine. And we can also see some prototype of architecture using those technology to build (or print) buildings. However, those examples still regard houses as duplicable products. This chapter start form basic Geometry, through the relationship in two-dimensional geometry graphic, especial form point, edge, and sur- face, discuss about the arrangement between all geometry. Every point, line, surface or object assemble can the graphic they create is called ge- ometry. Geometry is the science to study the geometric of nature, therefor includes liner geometry, curved surface, and stereoscopic graphic, all the relation and comparative of length, perimeter, area and volume.

Symmetry Wall 44
Architecture is formed by all different kinds of unit, every units have their unique systems to link every pieces, and between two different systems also have a specific method to connect. Brick is the basic unit of the brick wall, in-between every bricks are using cement as instrumentality to attach with one and others. Wooden window frames using nails and latch to create it’s basic unit, in-between wooden window frames and glass is silicone. Brick wall, wooden window frames and glass all connected by different systems. Using different permutations to array the different units are able to create different part of architecture, decoration, wall, structure or space. In this chapter focus on how to reorganize the element which can down load from open source. Through shape, scale and function to build a new system to arrange all the elements becoming a new type of architecture.
