Luminosity Linguistic Definition Luminance refers to a thing that transmits information by reflecting sunlight. When the human eye catches the light, it can get the appearance information of the object reflecting sunlight. When the brightness is brighter, the information conveyed by the object will change
Philosophical Definition The light in the building is not only the light itself, we can create different atmosphere by changing the intensity of light. People can change the intensity of light and the perception of light received by human body by changing the building materials. The change of luminosity can enlarge or reduce the visual volume of the building, and create completely different visual atmosphere to achieve different purposes. Designers can create different luminosity by changing the amount of light reflected, the angle of reflection and the material.

Meaning The decisive non parallel line marks the explosive energy of her first building: the Vitra fire station. The light on the ceiling, between the wall and the ground, between the wall and the roof strengthens the linear building with sharp edges. The light gap between the wall and the ceiling also deconstructs the traditional building structure. Her architectural style and design make the building lines very sharp, especially the building built with concrete, the lines are very sharp, but the soft and diffuse internal and external lighting to some extent offset the impact of the building itself, and neutralize the sharp feeling brought by the lines. The change that light can bring is huge. In her design, through adding and changing the luminosity, the style and atmosphere of the whole design are changed, giving people a completely different feeling, and the use of light is very clever.
In the Italian museum, she creates a unique sense of harmony between fluent form, sunlight and light. Linear louvers follow the concept grid, filtering sunlight to ensure the soft light of the structure curve. Hide electrical lighting as much as possible. Black staircases contrast strongly with white and bright soffit. Diffuse light passes through the building, creating a calm contrast with dynamic lines and black-and-white materials. This kind of contrast makes the building more vivid and creates a good architectural atmosphere. The building is no longer silent but full of language sense. In this case, the information expressed by the building is richer than that expressed by removing the light.

In this design, the light could go through the whole pavilion. The roof on the top is made by the glass witch the sunshine could shine into the underground corridor. In the night time, the Illumination inside the pavilion could also affect the surrounding buildings. The whole building wil be like a huge Luminescent substances.

This pavilion uses the reflection of light to make the inside of the building light up. On the both wall at the end of the stairs, there are huge mirror like material to make the light reflect, also on the east part of the underground floor, the material can also reflect the light, no matter morning or afternoon, the sunshine can go through the whole underground building. In the night the light inside the building can also be reflected to the outside.
Page 11
In the middle of the underground building is a pool on the same plane as the ground. Water is carried by glass at the bottom of the hemisphere. The water surface can refract light. Because the angles of points on each sphere are different, when light is refracted from the water of the sphere, parallel light can be scattered around and shadowed by water. This makes the interior light mottled and interesting.

Enlightment I have seen the glass house that other’s designed, they use glass wall to brighten the whole building by allowing more light to enter the interior of the building. In the Louvre Pyramid, the designer uses a pyramidshaped structure made of pure glass to connect the ground and underground of the Louvre so that people can clearly see the buildings on the ground and the light from the ground can be projected into the ground. At night, the interior of the pyramid also shines around.
Page 13
Glass roof can make the interior of the room bright, but also can shelter the wind and rain. The pool becomes sparkling under the light. The combination of water surface and light can make the building lively.

Reflection Linguistic Definition Reflection is a change of direction at the boundary between two different media, so that the wave will return to the media of its origin when it touches the interface. Usually reflected are light waves and sound waves.
Philosophical Definition Reflection is not only the propagation of light wave and sound wave, but also the thought that can reflect people. When architects integrate their own ideas and thoughts into their design works, such ideas will affect people in the building through the light and shadow in the building, thus spreading the designer's ideas. In architecture, the reflection of light is often used in architecture.

Meaning With the belief that light and brilliance contribute to the creation of landmark buildings and a better human world, glass and metal are used in the walls of buildings. Therefore, the meaning track of architecture changes from internal space form to external space form. The glass curtain wall of Herzog and de Mellon's Irbil Symphony Orchestra in Hamburg refers to sherbart's glass culture, as well as Hans Sharon's glittering golden skin in the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Curved glass walls distort the appearance of the scenery, whether it is the sky city or the scenery, because of the glass walls, it has become different. This change is in sharp contrast to what they look like in the real world. Style is changing and innovating. When people see the building, it is no longer a common concrete wall. It reflects the surrounding elements to make it more harmonious with the surrounding landscape. At the same time, the exterior of the building is not a smooth reflection but a distorted one The curved glass elements inside and outside distort the perception of the city, water and sky, which are in sharp contrast to the uniform flat glass curtain of international style. The environment is not a clear image, but a process of modification and copying.

Most part of the pavilion is underground, the only thing which could be seen on the ground are two pools. which could bring fantastic refraction of light through water and ripple of water . which will make the light inside beautiful. Alson at the night time, the light inside the pavilion will be refracted to the out side.

Opacity Reflection can be a mirror of psychological research. When people think about something, their emotions and actions show what they are thinking about. When someone laughs or cries, others react. Psychologically, there are two parts, one is the instinctive response to stimulation, the other is the acquired reflex after stimulation. This may be a reflection of human thinking. In the design, reflection can be "secondhand", just like in the performance of the building, the designer creates a shape and the customer expresses it after appreciating the shapes.
Definition Reflection is the process by which light is reflected back from the surface without passing through it. Light is reflected from the mirror. It is the change of the wavefront direction at the interface between two different media, which makes the wavefront return to the medium of its origin.
Page 21
Linguistic Definition Opacity refers to the fact or phenomenon that is difficult to see through. The existence of opaque things will block the visible light, making it impossible for the light to penetrate and be seen. In this property can be used to create interesting lighting effects.
Philosophical Definition Opacity refers to blocking and blocking. In the path of light, opaque things will block the spread of light. It is not only an obstacle to light, but also an obstacle to the receiver. An object expresses its information in the form of scattered light, because some light cannot reach the place it should go, because it is blocked and cannot be seen. It's like a person walking on the road meets a wall that can't be crossed, so he stops, and the person on the other side of the wall can't find your existence.
On the one hand, the color of the white building is very bright, which is very practical in countries where sunshine is not abundant. At the same time, he has a high reflective rate. He reflects the light to the maximum extent, providing lighting for the dark night. At the same time, for indoor, it is very practical in the place where the sunlight is not good. It can be that the indoor becomes bright, greatly improving the adverse effect of light being blocked. At the same time, the white building is perfectly combined with the characteristic of frequent snow in northern Europe. The white building and white snow correspond to each other, which is also very beautiful
Meaning The Scandinavian countries have developed great buildings that resonate with both the scarce light in winter and the long summer days. Henry Plummer, Professor Emeritus at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, after carefully observing and studying the sunlight conditions and needs of Nordic countries, the photographer found that using white building materials can provide great convenience for room lighting. By using the aesthetic experience of his photography, he combined the architectural needs with the visual feeling of human beings and the pursuit of aesthetics.

Filtration Linguistic Definition Filtering is to achieve the effect of projecting a certain amount of light to a specific place by blocking the forward path of a part of light. The process of filtering out unwanted light and leaving useful light behind is called filtering.
Philosophical Definition Filtering is a process of selection, in which the useless light is discarded and the useful light is left behind. The color of light is colorful. When we choose by filtering, we can make the light colorful instead of the same color and form. This method can be used in architectural design to check the changes caused by the architectural environment atmosphere.
Page 27
Meaning Inside the building, in different directions, people will have different experiences and feelings for light. Different rhythms of light create different atmospheres. Light waves are constantly transmitted in the building. They are not regular or periodic in the building. They collide and conflict, expand and compress in the continuous transformation. The atmosphere created by the flow and transformation of light makes people feel the charm of the building and enter the state of contemplation. This is the advantage of the combination of light and building.
At noon, the sun from the roof of the inclined pipe into the room, you can clearly see the light path. On a cloudy day, it's white. The sun is golden in the evening. In different time, the change of sunlight also implies the change of time and the change of universe.
