WELCOME Welcome to Chequer Mead’s brand new venue guide for the summer season. 2017 marks the year of our 21st birthday and so to celebrate we’ve launched this new venue guide design and layout, putting our previous brochure design to rest after 12 long years! We’re pleased to have teamed up with EMS Design and Print and the result, as you can see, is great. This season we welcome back some firm favourites including Vienna Festival Ballet, The Simon and Garfunkel Story and The Sooty Show, whilst also bringing first appearances to the programme including Cloudbusting and Creeds Cross, both of which promise a great evening of music. Friday Night Live is an exciting addition to this season too, playing host to some great acoustic acts performing in The Pavilion and with tasty tapas available too. We’ve also been making improvements to the building over the last 10 months including our recently renovated foyer and new state of the art studio spaces which are already proving really popular with our hirers. These spaces have been designed to accommodate almost any eventuality from dance classes to meetings, private parties and functions. Further developments are just around the corner and we can’t wait to tell you more about them soon. Finally, we welcome Sussex Police to Chequer Mead whose new public contact point and policing base is now operating in the former Wagg Studio at Chequer Mead. The public contact point is open for general enquires Mon-Fri between 10am and 2pm. Keep an eye on our website for further information and updates about everything going on at Chequer Mead. It’s going to continue to be a busy year and we think you’re going to love what we have in store. Will Perkins
