about me Hi, I am Cherian, a dreamer who has fallen in love with architecture and the beauty in its ability to shape human emotions and the responsibilities entrusted by it. I believe in hard work, but not without fun and learning something new every day. I believe a building is truly beautiful when people are happy in it. Through my work, I try to experiment and explore a need to reinvent and create conceptual metamorphosis which questions typical building types and its relevance today. An urge to dig deep into every project to identify the core questions to be asked and synthesizing design solutions. To travel and gather experience. To practice different sets of skills on my own to refine my ability to make ideas happen and to evolve my creative potential. To work to the best of my potential for the project at hand.

PORT ACTIVITIES
CITY MARKET
The region is currently in a deteriorated condition. There is no activity which will attract people. There exists a huge expanse of the old trade port which has a great potential for waterfront activities.

interlace urban design
Mangalore is a historical port city on the western coast of south India. having trade links from Arab traders centuries ago to the colonial era, it was a vibrant port. A few decades ago, to accommodate the increasing amount of goods, the port was shifted north, away from the city. This left an urban void in the densest part of the city which is occupied by unplanned development.

We see a majority of the old buildings concentrated near the center of the highlighted area. These are the institutions (schools, churches, administration) which was set up during the colonial rule, the city grew from the port site eastwards, but most of the other buildings have either been rebuilt or demolished.
Analysing the urban grain ,we see down south where there exist the fisherman settlement and the historical Mangalore tile factory and goods railway station it is sparsely densified. as we go north we see the more recent growth of the commercial core of the city and dense clusters of settlements. with little to no free space
The road by category of road width is the main arterial connections with the national highway shown in red. We also see the city bus stand well connected. But from that point, all routes towards the port are narrow and dilapidated due to haphazard growth.
The whole city converges at the 4 nodes mentioned on the map. This is due to the placement of the city bus stand, the intercity bus stands the Kudla market and other administrative buildings in very close proximity. The roads barely manage to accommodate the traffic.

There exists a great opportunity which is multi-faceted. One to create a beautiful pedestrian-only approach towards the waterfront, with the present houses converted into small craft stores to create a sort of an artists village.
ARCHITECTURE
The settlement lies in an area between the DC Office and st ann's school. The area came up as the land was low lying, close to the bus stand and cheaper. The settlement is unplanned unhygienic and without any amenities This area is very prone to flooding

healing architecture multi specialty hospital
The site is situated in a residential area, with other hospitals nearby serving other specialties. we were to accommodate gynaecology, pediatrics, orthodontics. The concept was to explore upon various ways through which the patient's health could be improved with the help of architecture. More specifically natural light, ventilation, vegetation ARCHITECTURE
Proximity and circulation was the core challenge. we had to integrate with enough natural open spaces within the building without contaminating the sterile regions

Envisioning a concept to integrate the needs of the community with the functional requirement of the space
ARCHITECTURE
As Hebbal industrial layout grows, development will take place in a linear fashion along the ring road. There will exist a gap between the people and their need to socialize. Things would soon turn monotonous the heavily motorized roads and nearby industries will have left little to no space for human relations.

The axis, which creates a strong pull from the main access point frames a view through the center of the building of a cascading landscape that continues to the lake. the different functions are aligned accordingly with its needed proximity with the entrance.
The contours were cut so as to create the least terrain harm. The ground floor was also cut at three levels so that every level reaches out to the central aisle which becomes a central gathering space

The route between the lake and the ring road became the parti of the design.
