introduction For marketers, it is vital to understand what do consumer consider when they are making decisions, in order to develop suitable strategies to satisfy their wants and needs. A customer profile aims to identify and qualify habits and characteristics of ideal or most common and typical customer group. (E.Hur 2016) I will create three customer profiles for three brands from different market levels: Saint Laurent (luxury market), H&M (high street market) and adidas (sportswear market).

brand overview Saint Laurent is a luxury brand which was founded in 1961 by a French fashion designer Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint-Laurent, known as Yves Saint Laurent. It was the first couture house to introduce the concept of prêt-à-porter (ready-towear) in 1966 with the collection called ‘Rive Gauche’ (youth and freedom) collection. ( NET-A-PORTER.COM 2016)

According to the Saint Laurent website, there are around 160 stores globally. Unquestionably, the consumption of luxury products for Asian consumers have increased dramatically in recent years. Particularly Chinese consumers, they are the biggest buyers of expensive items and accounted for 29% purchases in 2013. Moreover, Many EU company, such as Harrods of London has seen sales to Chinese shoppers as its largest foreign contingent. (Doing it their way, The Economist 2014) Without a shadow of a doubt, most of the stores are located across Asia in places like

China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, South Korea etc, with 83 stores in total. EU has less than half of the stores in Asia with 37 stores located in Austria, Denmark, France, Germany,Italy, Russia, UK etc. 23 stores are located in USA, 12 stores located in Africa and Middle East and 5 stores located in Latin America.
