Exciting Expansion Update: New Adult Medicine Location Coming Soon!
We’re thrilled to announce the progress of our latest venture: the transformation of 1340 S Division Street into our newest adult medicine location. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s to come:
Progress Update:
Since January, our team has been hard at work converting this space into a state-ofthe-art medical facility. We’re pleased to report that we’re currently 60% complete with the renovations.
Facility Details:
• Size: The new location spans an impressive 8,500 square feet.
• Exam Rooms: It will feature 16 exam rooms, ensuring ample space to serve our patients effectively.
• Additional Features: A walk-in lab will be available onsite, enhancing our commitment to convenience for patients.
• Opening Date:
We’re tentatively aiming to open the doors to our South Division Street office on December 1.
Consolidation Plans:
We’re merging operations from Sweetbay Adult Medicine and Power Street Adult Medicine into this new location. This consolidation allows us to streamline services and optimize patient care. Following this move, we’ll be repurposing the Power Street location into a dedicated pediatrics office.
Sweetbay Closure:
Sweetbay Adult Medicine will close as soon as our South Division Street office opens its doors to patients.
We’re incredibly excited about this expansion, which allows us to better serve our community with enhanced medical services and facilities. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the grand opening of our newest location!

Embracing Healthy Habits: Spotlight on Calcium
Welcome to our Healthy Living Corner, where we celebrate health and wellness through practical tips and seasonal inspirations. This month, let’s delve into the importance of Calcium and how it supports our overall health.
What is Calcium and why do I need it?
Calcium is a vital mineral essential for several key functions in the body. It’s renowned for its role in maintaining strong bones and teeth, aiding in blood clotting, helping muscles contract effectively, and regulating heart and nerve functions. Interestingly, about 99% of the body’s calcium is stored in bones and teeth, highlighting its crucial role in skeletal health. The remaining 1% is distributed throughout the blood, muscles, and other tissues, where it supports various physiological processes.
What foods contain Calcium?
You can obtain calcium from a variety of dietary sources, not just dairy products. Foods rich in calcium include dairy staples like milk, cheese, and yogurt. For those on plantbased diets, fortified alternatives such as almond milk and tofu provide excellent calcium content. Additionally, leafy greens like spinach, kale, and bok choy, along with nuts (like almonds), legumes (like chickpeas), and calcium-fortified foods such as orange juice, offer valuable dietary sources of calcium. Even canned salmon and sardines with bones can contribute significantly to your calcium intake.
Medication Tip
Are you taking thyroid medication? Remember to avoid consuming calcium-rich foods or supplements at the same time as your medication. Calcium can interfere with the absorption of thyroid medication, affecting its efficacy.
Calcium-rich Recipe: One-Pan Chicken Parmesan Pasta
Enjoy a delicious and calcium-packed meal with our One-Pan Chicken Parmesan Pasta recipe. This easy-to-make dish utilizes the one-pot pasta method, cooking noodles, chicken, and sauce all in one skillet for minimal cleanup. By adding spinach, you’ll boost each serving with approximately 234 mg of calcium, making it not only convenient but also nutritious for maintaining your calcium intake.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
¼ cup whole-wheat panko breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon minced garlic, divided
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1/2inch pieces
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
¼ teaspoon salt
3 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 ½ cups crushed tomatoes
8 ounces whole-wheat penne pasta
6 oz. package of baby spinach
½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
¼ cup chopped fresh basil
Directions
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large broiler-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add panko and 1 teaspoon garlic. Cook, stirring, until the panko is golden brown, 1 to 2 minutes.
Transfer to a small bowl and set aside. Wipe out the pan.
Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon oil in the pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken, Italian seasoning, salt and the remaining 1 tablespoon garlic. Cook, stirring frequently, until the chicken is no longer pink on the outside, about 2 minutes. Add broth, tomatoes, spinach, and penne. Bring to a boil and cook, uncovered, stirring frequently, until the penne is cooked and the sauce has reduced and thickened, 15 to 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, position an oven rack in the upper third of the oven. Preheat the broiler to high. When the pasta is cooked, sprinkle mozzarella over the penne mixture. Place the pan under the broiler; broil until the mozzarella is bubbling and beginning to brown, about 1 minute. Top with the panko mixture, Parmesan and basil.
