BIRDGE_SWEETS: The Candy Experience

Page 1

CONCEPT Get inspiration from an ancient Asian folklore, the Cowherd and the Weaving Maid. In this story, They were only allowed to meet on the magpie bridge over the Milky Way once a year on the 7th day of 7th lunar month 七夕 CHI HSI, the Eastern Valentine’s Day.

USAGE

Open the box and unfold the bridge piers. Pick one of the six ruby chocolates among the Milky Way.

Bite or Crack the heart then take out the magpie inside.

Finish all six chocolates, collect six magpies. Build the bridge for the Cowherd and the Weaving Maid, also for you and your lover!

SKETCH In the beginning, I tried to build the bridge with birds in low-poly style. However, it is hard to identify they as birds. As a result, I chose to use streamlined shapes to build birds’ body and developed the bridge.

PACKAGING I used a folding box as my packaging. When it was unfolded, two sides of box can be the bridge piers for birds to be built as the bridge. I chose all-white smooth bristol paper as the material to make the entire packaging look qualified and simple, emphasizing the natural red color of ruby chocolate in heart shape. Also, replaced two sides of paper to transparent acrylic sheets to let chocolate be visible.
