SketchUp Week 5 In this class we saw how to use the rotate tool, copy tool and clean selection. We’ll start off by doing a rectangle and drawing some lines like this. Now draw a circle from the centre of the lines to the top midpoint. Draw two arches, from the top line midpoint to the ends of the horizontal lines. The radius of them will be where they collide with the circle.

Delete all the lines you don’t need so you end up with an archway like this.
Select it all and make it a group.
Enter your group and use the push up tool to create this figure.

Double-‐click one of the faces of your figure to select it, then use the offset tool to make a smaller version of it on the inside.
Use the push up tool to cut it through.
Triple-‐click your figure to select all of it, use the rotate tool and place it on the ground so it looks like this.

Hold SHIFT and drag the rotate tool to the top of your figure until you reach the midpoint.
Now that you are on the midpoint, you will drag the line to the end of your figure so you can start rotating it.
While you are rotating it, press CTRL so you can get a copy of it, and place it like this.

Enter how many copies you want.
And it should look like this.
Triple-‐click your figure to select it all, then right click on the mouse/ intersect faces/ with model. This will help us get all the lines that are missing and that we will need so we can delete the interior of the figure and make it look like an archway.

You will need to set your drawing in X-‐Ray so you can see what you are going to delete.
Once you have your drawing in X-‐Rays you will see your drawing a little bit transparent. Select the interior of your figure, but be aware of not selecting other parts that might influence in your figure.
Your drawing will now look like this, and you will have this lines coming from the top, which you need to delete. Be careful no to delete parts of your figure.
