ACAD Week 9 Paper space review Tools for the day – Array, Wipeout, Divide, Properties … and if we get time.

HELP!!! My paperspace -‐-‐ looks wrong!! – The scale is too big? The first thing to do is to check the paper size. Right click on tab.

Select page setup manager.

Check here for paper size.

Ana Silvia Hernandez Balcazar 19/ 11/12 We know that the paper size is correct -‐ & we also know the view port window is also scaled correctly – the only other possibility is that the plot scale is wrong. – The plot scale is the relationship between the viewport windows and the sheet of paper. To change this we go to the modify button within the setup manager.

Check here that the plot scale is setup 1:1 mm.

Array tool The Array tool – put simply is an advance copy tool that allows a more dynamic control of complex copies. – Lines, rows

Ana Silvia Hernandez Balcazar 19/ 11/12 Shortcut: AR Choose between Rectangular, Path and Polar. Rectangular – Rows and columns. Path – Along a line / polyline. Polar – Copied about a point. Wipeout tool. Shortcut: WI – Select wipeout. Hides a selected area – it has a similar effectin essence to trim – but the bonus is that it is non destructive – enabling you to keep the data beneath. – and edit it later if need be. Choose wipeout. Then draw the outline where you wish to cut out. The computer recognises rectangles as polylines, so, if you have drawn a polyline or rectangle you can choose this optino rather than tracing it. Keep or discard the original.
