Registering and Bidding Placing a Bid

Proxy Bidding (Setting a Proxy Bid)

With Proxy Bidding, you can enter your maximum bid, then sit back and watch. When you set a Proxy Bid amount, the auction automatically bids on your behalf up to your maximum bid. If the lot ends for less than your maximum, that’s all you’ll have to pay. This means you don’t have to keep coming back to re-bid every time another bid is placed.

Here’s how it works:

When you set your high limit bid, you type in the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the lot. Your maximum amount is kept confidential from other bidders and the seller.

EDJE Auctions compares your bid to those of the other registered bidders --- the system automatically places bids on your behalf, using only as much of your bid as is necessary to maintain your high bid position.

View video of each lot on auction site.

The system will bid only up to your maximum amount as necessary to maintain you as the high bidder. If another bidder has a higher maximum, you’ll be outbid. BUT, if no other bidder has a higher maximum, you win the lot. And you could pay significantly less than your maximum price! Manual Bids - Single Bid Button

Click on the BID button pertaining to the lot that interest you. The single bid button indicates what the next bid needs to be in order to get “IN”. Bidding will be set at increment amounts. In the instance where two bidders bid “simultaneously”, the first bid that reaches the internet auction computer will be given the amount----the second bidder will be asked to bid the next available amount. DO NOT HIT THE BID BUTTON REPEATEDLY or you may actually stall your bid placement! Or you may place a higher bid then you need to. Click only once to place bid, your

Welcome to our 2022 production sale. Welcome to the Ipsen Cattle Company 9th annual Online production sale. We are excited about our upcoming sale and look forward to visiting with everyone interested in our program. The quality is deep, and it shouldn’t be hard to find an animal that will fit your requirements or needs.

Our philosophy and program are simple: To produce the most predictable, functional, and highest quality cattle possible, with meat and muscle for today’s industry needs. We have achieved this by using the best possible genetics available for our environment, with balanced traits and a rigid and ruthless culling program. We feel fortunate to have our son Logan giving us advice on herd sires. In his travels he sees more cattle than any of us would be able to and has a great ability to sort those animals with true muscle and performance. As you look at the cattle you can see, from their thickness, we are meeting this goal. We discuss these sires and make the decisions on which bulls will work, to produce a top set of breeding cattle. Thus, it puts us at a great advantage in sire selection and at the end of the day after they have been Tested, Measured and Weighed we offer them to you. All cattle selling, except Red Hereford bulls, have been parent verified, EPD’s genomically enhanced and all Fall born bulls have been PAP tested to give you the highest level of predictability possible. Emphasis has been placed on all the important traits that make cattle profitable and believe that single trait selection is a one-way road to disaster. Phenotype, structure and convenience traits are highly important to us and drive this program. We also place great emphasis on EPD’s as a tool in the selection process. As we get further into genomic testing, the EPD’s are carrying higher accuracies and becoming more reliable. As you appraise the offering keep in mind your resources. Will they allow you to capture the full genetic potential of a high EPD animal or would you be better off to moderate in certain traits?

Registration certificates will be transferred to buyer at seller’s expense. Please leave specific transfer instruction, preferably association issued breeder number if possible. Females that carry calves from sires that are not owned by Ipsen Cattle Company will not be furnished AI certificates on resulting calves.

BULL BUYERS: As the majority of our bulls go to ranchers that run at elevation, at the advice of Dr. Holt and Dr. Lott we changed our listing of the PAP scores. They will be listed as Low risk (43 PAP score and lower), Moderate risk (44-51 PAP score) and High risk (above 52 PAP score). Please don’t be afraid to discuss this with us if you have any questions.

Delivery: We will deliver free of charge to your ranch or a place acceptable to buyer within a 300-mile radius of our ranch. All other deliveries outside that 300-mile radius we will do all we can to get them to a central location or will meet your truck to make delivery as easy as possible and at an actual cost of delivery not to exceed $600. Delivery will start as soon after the sale as we can put loads together. Some states require additional or different tests than Idaho. We will start these tests as soon as we can after the sale and will care for animals free of charge until we can get all requirements met to make delivery on your purchased animal.

HEIFER BUYERS. Take a good look at the heifers offered this year. The quality is phenomenal with many of them coming directly out of the keeper pen. We are excited to watch them as they develop this winter. They are from the heart of our herd and will make excellent investments on March 1st. There are several that will make top replacements for any Registered Herd. We believe in these genetics and will buy back any bull calf from these at weaning at $200 over your steer price if anyone desires to do that.

We are offering a Repeat Bull Buyer Discount. No discount for heifers and heifer purchases do not count towards this discount. 2% for 1st year repeat buyer. 3% for 2nd year repeat buyer. 5% for 3rd year repeat buyer. Examples: Purchased bulls in 2021 and 2022. - 2% off total bull purchase. Purchased bulls in 2020, 2021 and 2022. - 3% off total bull purchase. Purchased bulls in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. - 5% off total bull purchase

Purchased bulls in 2020, no purchase in 2021 and purchased bulls in 2022 = no discount.

ALSO THANK YOU TO...

Photographer Katie Colyer, Livestock Direct, and our wonderful photo day team! The Targeting the Brand logo is designed to highlight registered Angus bulls with greater genetic potential to produce calves meeting the most challenging specifications of the Certified Angus Beef brand. Bulls must meet genetic requirements of +0.65 Marbling EPD and +55 Dollar Grid ($G) to qualify. Ipsen cattle has been measuring and selection for maternal excellence in the three breeds that we produce. The Hereford breed introduced it many years ago and see the benefits it has produced. The program, regardless of the breed, is designed to capture additional reproductive trait data and ultimately expand reproductive productivity in the herd. By submitting all our data and driving ourselves to study more economically relevant traits in our herd, we are able to offer data that is transparent to our customers and allows them to rely on the data produced by the associations based on maternal genetics. Our dedication to our cow herd is second to none. It has been a commitment to account for every female in the herd, one in which has paid of for us and we feel will pay for our customers as well. Genomics: Don’t just take our word for it Now producers can make more rapid genetic progress than ever before with genomic-enhanced expected progeny differences (GE-EPDs). Genetic evaluation also means commercial producers of registered cattle can make selection decisions with increased confidence in the accuracy of genetic predictions and assured Parent verification.

“Bear is the thickest Angus bull that has walked through the chutes here at Hoffman A.I.” - Doug Coombs We are proud that we use A.I. extensively to incorporate the top genetics of the Angus breed into our herd. Bear is our walking herd bull that will run with the top bulls in the breed across the board. He has the EPD profile, the look and after several years of use, we believe his offspring do all the speaking. An impressive looking bull with just as impressive EPD profile. He is balanced, not only in figures but in look. He packs meat and muscle with thickness throughout his body. With a neat and tidy Angus head, he blends well into his shoulder, which is tight and correct in its angles. His mid-section exhibits capacity and volume. Bear is broad across his back and thick in his quarter. He is a prolific breeder and covers the cows he is turned out with on time. His real value has surfaced in the females that he has left us with, they are everything we thought they would be and more.

Very long bodied ET son of Cowboy Up. His dam is being used with great success in the Triangle T donor program in Nebraska raising Limflex bulls. She is a larger framed cow so we used Cowboy Up to moderate them a bit. He was raised on a poorer recip cow and didn’t get a very good start but has shaped up very nice.

If we didn’t already have a couple full sisters to this heifer I would have kept her for us. Superior Calving ease and Maternal pedigree. We only have a few of our Final Answer females left and their EPD profile isnt very high but they are great producing cows. AI’d to Hoffman High Road (19703170) on 11/3/21. Loads of volume and depth of rib in this Billy Ray daughter. Out of one of our really good young Bonnie cows with a shot of Coleman Angus showing in the Pedigree. Heterozygous Polled, Pigment: LE 100, RE 100 You are going to really like the look of this heifer. She is clean fronted with nice neck extension. A daughter of Leader that stands on good feet and legs and carries herself with lots of class. AI’d to Jo Jack Hammer 7A ET on 11/3/21 for a 90.75% Black Hereford calf. Pasture exposed to ICC C245 Full Power 9527 (HB015644) 11/20/21 to 1/30/22.

Bear daughter with tremendous potential. A heifer that I am sure that I will regret selling. She has a smooth top with excellent thickness, has a great middle, plenty of shape to her muscle pattern yet feminine and stylish. She has some of the greatest females in the Hereford breed in her pedigree N89, Dominette 9122 and Victra 4057 and the great Donna 714, who is arguably the best cow in the Angus breed. She is also a 3/4 sister to lot 50. AI’d to JO Jack Hammer 7A ET (HB010938) on 11/15/21. Pasture exposed to ICC C245 Full Power 9527 (HB015644) 11/20/21 to 1/30/22.
