OWEN LIGTENBERG

1. What is your most memorable sports moment?

The entire week of homecoming I was the mascot for our school. During the pep rallies and the parade I inspired 100s of kids at the those schools to show support and have spirit. The very same feeling I felt when I was younger and saw those high school leaders come to our school and rally us under the Spartan identity. It truly is an amazing feeling knowing that I was a pivotal part of bringing our community together not just to win a game but to show our love and spirit for one another.

2. What has being on a team taught you?

In cheerleading you need to have lots of energy and be able to read the crowd. But one thing all team sports and arts has taught me is that if you want to be the best you have to do three things. Show up and have good attitude, be open minded to compromise, and work hard. I have taken those three attributes and applied it to my life and been super successful all because I learned from participating in team activities.

3. What are your future plans?

I currently am searching the military to find the right job for me serving my country

4. List all of the activities you will be participating in during 2024-2025. Cheer, Drama, Choir, Knowledge Bowl

CASEY NAUTA

1. What is your most memorable sports moment?

One of my favorite moments was at the state track meet in 2023. I got to anchor our 4x800 team to a podium spot when we were not expected to place at all. Each of us gave 100% to achieve this, making it mean even more. It was special because we had two seniors on our relay so it was a good last race for them and a perfect way to end the season for all of us.

2. What has being on a team taught you?

Being a part of a team has taught me that I am not doing it just for myself. Each day we make each other better and push towards our own goals. In cross country each of us are trying to beat our personal best times but its the overall team placement that really matters. Everyone’s placement is important. It has helped me be a role model for the younger kids and to encourage everyone to help them reach their goals.

3. What are your future plans?

My future plans are to attend Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. I have been invited to run on both their cross-country and track teams. I am planning to major in accounting/ business finance.
