An encounter with Burkitt’s lymphoma at age 13 inspired Caitlyn to get involved with the Children’s Art Project during her time as a young patient at MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital. She loves creating colorful, whimsical artwork for every season of the year! One of the programs Caitlyn has enjoyed the most is Camp A.O.K. for Anderson’s Older Kids. Over the last four summers, she has learned that being bald is no big deal because all the other kids are patients too. Now a freshman at The University of Texas at Tyler, she enjoys socializing with her friends and playing soccer for the university. She is studying nursing and hopes to eventually become an anesthesiologist at MD Anderson so she can help patients the same way doctors once helped her.
