Originally from Wetumka, OK, Vernon’s passion for helping people started at an early age. He initially followed the footsteps of his father and pursued a career as a church pastor after earning an M.B.A. from Oklahoma City University. After a few years, Vernon decided to follow a new passion and became a licensed Oklahoma real estate agent. Shortly after his business took off, he decided to make real estate his full-time job.

As CEO, Sheryl has grown the company to over 800 associates and 16 offices in the Tulsa and Oklahoma City surrounding areas, making it the largest independent real estate company in Oklahoma. LEE COHEN - CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER AND COFOUNDER

Originally from New York, Lee learned about real estate from his grandfather who purchased, sold and managed real estate in Manhattan. In the 1990s, Lee owned a commercial brokerage in Miami, Florida, when he created a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust), which went public in 1996. Upon his arrival to Tulsa in 1999, Lee worked at various residential and commercial brokerages and eventually partnered with Sheryl Chinowth to form Chinowth & Cohen Realtors as well as C&C Commercial Realtors.

Leland attended the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine prior to launching his robust real estate career. In his first year as an associate, Leland sold a record $11 million. LETTING GO & GETTING A SALE

• Stage the home and set up the rooms in the home for their intended purpose, if possible

• Focus on the Front Entrance - Buyers make a decision in the 45 seconds

• Repaint or touch up where necessary

• Buyers love the look and smell of a clean home

• Make sure all light bulbs are working

• Maintain and repair. We recommend a pre-inspection to avoid any “surprises”

• Do not overprice! Price the home properly coming out of the gate.

• Confess all you know about the home’s condition

• Align expectations with reality, not what you want reality to be

• We ask for notice to show your house, but ALWAYS have the house ready to show

• Leave the house when there is a showing

• Don’t cook with strong smells while the house is listed

• Cedar is acceptable, but remove other storage aides, such as moth balls

• Don’t take feedback personally - not everyone is going to love your house and value the same things you value. Release the emotional attachment to the home

• If the house sells, where are you going? Consider all possibilities - i.e. renting, buying, storage, movers, etc. Your Realtor has a list of “who to call” to help you start this process

• Maintain and repair items along the way. After you have a contract, the buyer has 10 days to have any and all inspections that he/she wishes. Be prepared for the possibility that the cost of repairs may be higher than you anticipate. We will negotiate repairs at this point

• Call ahead and schedule utilities to be taken out of your name on the day of closing

• Trust your Realtor! Communicate your concerns and your Realtor will help take care of problems and situations as they arise. Getting the transaction to closing is the #1 Goal!
