Satisfying the Vegan and Plant Based consumer one chip shop at a time

We all know that we have to do our bit for the environment and what we eat plays a part in this which is why we are seeing a significant growth in plant based foods as more consumers become flexitarian. We are starting to eat more sustainably as well as healthily to the benefit of our generation and beyond. Each and every one of us can make a beneficial impact from what we do and what we eat.

Jack and Bry are one of those businesses that are trying to make that consumer transition as easy as possible. We want to deliver more sustainable food but it must still taste great. We have introduced our Jackfruit fish fillet that replicates the texture and delivery of eating fish but that is just one part of the portfolio. Our beginning actually started in jackfruit pepperoni as a pizza topping that has taken the market by storm. Whether you are in Pizza Express or getting a takeaway from Papa Johns you will find our toppings as an option on their pizzas. But Jack and Bry didn’t stop there and the company now produces an extensive range of products from Sausages to burgers. You can now find our food in burgers chains like Neat Burger and already have our jackfruit fish fillets in Harlees fish & chip takeaways and restaurants.

Just as the oceans do their bit for CO2 we also believe we can do our bit for CO2 reduction. Jackfruit is a sustainable crop than has a low carbon footprint versus their meat alternatives. Jackfruit farming uses 91% less land than it does for beef farming and it produces 100 times less CO2 than the equivalent British beef farming*. In fact the carbon footprint of a Jack and Bry burger is only 0.32kg per burger* which is even half the amount of some other plant based burgers* never mind a beef burger!

Menu's need to deliver more choice to cater for the evolving needs of a consumer. It's no longer enough to have just one Vegan/veggie option. We believe that a third of a menu should involve a plant based option to fulfil the burgeoning demand. This is why Jack&Bry now have a core Chip Shop range including Jack Fruit Fish, Burger and Sausages to satisfy this sales driver. *Mondra/Jack & Bry
