The Midwest’s central location and drivable convenience is a silver lining to modern worries about the cost, complexity and security of air travel. With headlines about air traffic safety on the rise, some travelers are newly hesitant to take to the skies. While unfortunate, it is nevertheless a reminder of one of our greatest strengths — drivability.
In addition to our Midwest nice reputation, the area offers a stress-free alternative to air travel. But that’s just one plus. There are so many others, which I’m thrilled to present in the 2025 Midwest Meetings Guide Book, our annual resource designed to help you plan the most memorable meetings and events in the Midwest.
Within these pages, you’ll find information on the region’s top meeting destinations, including on up and coming hotels, newly renovated venues and exciting group entertainment options in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. I think you’ll find that, while each state tells their own distinct story, they all offer versatile venues, warm hospitality, and dedicated professionals ready to make your next event seamless and successful.
As we kick off a new year that promises to be all but predictable, you can rely on the fact that the Midwest is ready to welcome you with open arms. Let’s make 2025 the year of gathering in the Heartland!

ILLINOIS
Illinois puts you smack dab in the middle of everything. From urban excitement and outdoor adventures to delicious food and fascinating history, this iconic destination has something for everyone, including classic venues undergoing transformation to new hotspots in places like Rockford.
A beloved landmark in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood, The Talbott is undergoing a transformation that will culminate in its rebranding as a member of Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection when complete in April. This renovation blends timeless elegance with contemporary sophistication to create a chic urban retreat for travelers and locals.
From check-in to room relaxation, the renovation encompasses every facet of the property, including its 178 guest rooms, public areas and event spaces. Originally built in 1927, The Talbott has long been celebrated for its Georgian Revival style. The transformation ensures it retains its historic charm while embracing the comforts and style today’s travelers demand. The boutique hotel offers an intimate experience and personalized
service, featuring 1,800 square feet of private meeting and event space. LAUREL, the on-site restaurant, is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner with a 100-seat outdoor patio.
A little further upstate, the over $300 million Hard Rock Casino Rockford opened its doors after a star-studded grand opening with Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker. The new 175,000-square-foot casino includes nearly 1,300 slot machines, 50 live table games including poker, a sportsbook and a 1,600-seat Hard Rock Live entertainment venue. From casual dining to upscale options, guests can enjoy seven unique eateries in the sprawling entertainment complex.
You can even plan your next event at Hard Rock Casino Rockford. The more than 13,000-square-foot live venue can seat 600 to 800 people, with a pre-function space of 4,500 square feet that can accommodate a smaller group or cocktail party. The property also has
several tasteful restaurant spaces that can cater to a more intimate group.
Explore the diversity of experiences in the middle of everything through Champaign, Galena, Grafton, Rockford and Chicagoland. No matter what kind of meeting you’re planning — large or small, short or long — Illinois has the exceptional venue, extraordinary catering and knowledgeable staff to exceed your needs.

LEGENDARY Meeting Incentives
INDIANA
When it comes to hosting successful meetings and events, Indiana stands out as a prime destination. From vibrant cities to charming college towns, the Hoosier State offers diverse venues, rich cultural experiences and top-tier hospitality.
Indianapolis continues to make strides toward being one of the nation’s best mid-sized cities. From key events, like the 109th running of the Indy 500 and the WNBA All-Star Game, to nearly $2.5 billion in infrastructure, the city is on track to become an even more desirable destination for meetings and events. Consider the Indiana Convention Center with 566,000 square feet of exhibit space, 71 meeting rooms, three ballrooms and 39 of Trade Show News Network’s Top 250 Shows.
And, with an anticipated opening of fall 2026, the 40-story, 800-room Signia by Hilton property will soon become Indy’s tallest hotel, including a top-level bar with a bird’s-eye view of the city. This $710 million development is part of the Indiana Convention Center expansion. Once complete, it will bring the
total number of hotel rooms connected by climate-controlled skywalks to over 5,500, more than any other city in the nation. It boasts 50,000 square feet of ballroom space, 30,000 square feet of meeting rooms, 40,000 square feet of pre-function space and 9,200 square feet of indoor/outdoor space.
Other luxury hotels coming online just in Indianapolis include the InterContinental Indianapolis with 170 rooms this year, Kimpton Hotel with 130 rooms in 2026, Shinola with 170 rooms in 2027 and 21c Museum Hotel with 150 rooms in 2028. The InterContinental will be positioned right off Monument Circle, the epicenter of Indy. While once on a list of Indiana’s 10 most endangered landmark buildings, the hotel will offer a rooftop bar with a view of Lady Victory sitting above the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
Indy will be the second city in the country to have a Shinola hotel, which will be housed in a 13-story tower. The $300 million project includes a 4,000-person music venue, retail space and a pedestrian skybridge connected to Gainbridge Fieldhouse (home of the Indiana Pacers and Fever).
The Kimpton Hotel is an $85 million project featuring a rooftop bar. Indy’s Old City Hall
will be home to the 21c Museum Hotel with a public art gallery and a 32-story tower.
Fort Wayne is an emerging hotspot for meetings, blending affordability with firstclass venues. The Grand Wayne Convention Center features 225,000 square feet of event space, complemented by nearby hotels and entertainment. Attendees can explore Riverfront Fort Wayne, an ideal area for networking and post-event relaxation. With a growing culinary scene and renowned attractions, the city provides an inviting atmosphere for all types of gatherings.
Home to Indiana University, Bloomington is another fantastic destination for meetings with an energetic feel. The Monroe Convention Center offers adaptable event spaces, while unique venues like Indiana Memorial Union provide historic charm. Planners can also incorporate the city’s thriving arts scene, scenic outdoor spaces and renowned local wineries for a wellrounded event experience.
With new developments underway and a commitment to hospitality, Indiana is ready to make your next gathering a resounding success, whether you’re hosting in dynamic Indianapolis, welcoming Fort Wayne or creative Bloomington.

Exciting developments are happening throughout Kansas!
America’s first entertainment district over a river is set to make its debut this year with the opening of Rock Island Bridge. The redeveloped bridge brings new life to a historic piece of railroad infrastructure, connecting Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas, across the state line. Rock Island Bridge will feature coffee shops, bars, restaurants, pathways for pedestrians and bikers, plus a large event space on the second level — all suspended above the Kansas River.
After your event, relax and unwind or stay at the new Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City this summer. The 229-room property is minutes from the Kansas Speedway, Legends Outlets shopping, Children’s Mercy Park, a youth sports complex and future Mattel theme park. Guests will be able to “waste away” at the resort-style outdoor pool, family entertainment center, arcade and more.
A four-story, 125-room AC Hotel by Marriott is additionally in the works at Overland Park’s Aspiria campus. Bransonbased HCW Development is targeting a 2026 opening. The hotel is just north of where Andretti Indoor Karting plans to open in 2025, and surrounded by vacant lots for future retail and restaurants.
This year, the College Baseball Foundation is getting ready to open the first home
for the College Baseball Hall of Fame. Just a short drive from the Overland Park Convention Center and its neighboring hotels, it will be ideal for group tours and small events when it opens this year. As a former college baseball player and son to a former MLB player, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes played an instrumental role in bringing the Hall of Fame to the Kansas City area.
Last January, the College Baseball Foundation and Visit Overland Park announced that the College Baseball Hall of Fame will be located within the Museum at Prairiefire. Then the foundation partnered with global design firm Populous to design the permanent location. Visit Overland Park estimates that the College Baseball Hall of Fame will have a multi-million dollar impact on the local economy when its doors open in 2025 as the home for more than 160 Hall of Fame Inductees.
In Kansas, you’ll find state-of-the-art venues, Midwestern friendliness, and unique attractions and entertainment. Whether you’re looking for vibrant city life or something a little more serene, the state offers something for everyone.
