Local Pizzeria Leaps into European Rankings

Napoli on the Road, a pizza place located on Devonshire Road, has won 15th place in the 50 Top Pizza rankings for Europe (excluding Italy), and 2nd place in the UK overall and Best New Entry for 2021.

The online guide is updated yearly following anonymous visits by their investigators to rate the pizza, the service, and the ambience of every pizza restaurant in Europe. This year, the UK’s top four pizzerias were all identified in London: Napoli is joined by 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo near Trafalgar Square, L’Antica Pizzeria in Hampstead, and ‘O ver in Southwark. Overall first place went to Peppe Pizzeria, in Paris.

A spokesperson for Napoli said: “Naples is truly on the road. The young pizza chef Michele Pascarella arrived in the British capital from Maddaloni in the province of Caserta. He has always been adept at merging his business acumen with vision.

“Because of the former, he opened his pizzeria calling it Napoli on the road as a tribute to his first, difficult steps in a hard, British reality. Now his dream is to go back on the road with two small vans equipped with wood-fired ovens.

“His pizza is a good authentic Neapolitan pizza. The atmosphere is that of a genuine Neapolitan pizzeria, with its classic fried foods, il ripieno, the traditional pizzas, and some more elaborate proposals. The beverage list does not offer many beers. Instead, there are wines that come from both the north and the south of the peninsula. The service is rapid, friendly and effective.”

Napoli offers a full range of traditional Italian pizzas as well as white pizzas, including the locally inspired Cheesewick, specialities like the Estate 2021 with homemade pesto cream, and multiple vegan options. They also offer a great range of classic Italian pasta dishes, antipasti, and desserts, and have a great rage of wines, cocktails, and other drinks.

The restaurant has a fresh but traditional vibe, with bountiful lemon trees and gorgeous traditional pizza ovens. They offer delivery and collection.

The chef, Michele, also took the time to thank the Chiswick community for their patronage and their support.
