Sander Wassink
STREET ARTISTS.
Sander Wassink is an artist and designer who encourages us to reconsider our ideas of beauty and aesthetic value. How can we reconsider what is important and what is desirable to include notions of history, memory and the preservation of a past which is slipping away. Amid new construction, new production, and constant proliferation of new forms and facades, Wassink turns his attention to the discarded, the abandoned, the left over and attempts to reimagine what can be done with the already partially formed. What new possibilities exist in the surfaces and materials that are half-built or half-destroyed. Whether his object is the partly demolished facade of an abandoned building, or the everyday detritus from our over productive culture, Wassink asks what new forms and new visions of beauty already exist to be discovered and appreciated.

I am a young designer in fashion costume and jewellery. I graduated last year in an MA in Performance Practice & Design at Central Saint Martins in London and presented a Lego dress at the London Fashion week in september featured in Vogue. I'm from Paris but I don't have at all the elegant minimalistic French style, I'm more attracted by bright colours, mismatch prints, shiny materials, over the top dresses. I try to build clothes with material which are not fabric, crossing boundaries of the costume experiment. I think that any object from everyday life can become a fashion accessory. Anything can be stitched on to clothes.

Established little over a year ago, young streetwear brand NICCE London has quickly made a name for itself as the new, go-to label for stylish people who want simple, no-fuss designs. Offering a refreshing alternative to the street style scene, NICCE London fuses together clean, print designs with a selection of ready-to-wear tees, sweatshirts, jackets and accessories. Boasting the NICCE logo in an array of styles, the brand’s name has fast become synonymous with the influential underground scene and has amassed an army of fans who all want originally designed, quality apparel. Founded by Mitchel Galvin-Farnol, himself a designer but also rooted in the electronic music scene, the brand naturally emerged from a love of music and fashion, growing from influences taken from Ibiza, Berlin and the East London club scene. Staying true to the brand’s music roots means that some of house music’s best names such as Loco Dice, Ben Pearce, Yousef and Hot Since 82 are already big fans of the brand as are some of the UK’s most well-established singers and bands, including Radio 1’s Sound of 2014 star Ella Eyre, Jessie Ware, Bombay Bicycle Club and Churches. Designed in-house by its tight knit creative team based in East London, the NICCE collections consist of Originals, Limited Editions and seasonal drops, with each season bigger than the last. With all products available from its flagship online store, the brand has since expanded to stock selected lines in Topman stores around the country, as well as leading fashion retail site, ASOS. Stay tuned to Nicce’s social channels, @niccelondon, for the latest news, exclusive offers and sneak peaks at forthcoming drops.
