Santa Costume: We are using this costume because conventionally the killer in a slasher horror hides his identify to some extent. Our trailer is set around Christmas time so it is contextual to the ďŹ lm to have a Santa costume. The storyline of our trailer includes a jock character bullying the protagonist at a party dressed as Santa, and the killer steals the costume after killing the Jock.
Fake Blood: In order to follow the conventional aspects of horror, (as well as following what the audience wants from the ďŹ lm) we wanted to feature some form of blood in the trailer. We are going to use this fake blood on the victims of the killer within our storyline.
Liquid Latex: We are going to use this in order to create the wounds for the actors playing the victims within our ďŹ lm.
Prop Knife: Conventionally in a slasher ďŹ lm, the killer has a chosen weapon that they tend to consistently use throughout. We have decided to make the weapon for our killer to be a knife. In order to ensure that our trailer is as safe as possible we are using a fake knife instead of a real one.
Party Props: Our trailer features multiple party scenes. In order to make it look as realistic as possible we will need to decorate the set with things such as lights; having drinking cups, party food, and a speaker to play music from.
Newspaper: In our ďŹ lm, the killer moves house, so we will need to have some newspaper to wrap up his belongings for packing.
Table and chairs: there is a scene in our ďŹ lm trailer where the protagonist’s parents are sitting and talking to a psychiatrist. We want this scene to look as if it was being set in a school, so we will need to use tables and chairs for the characters to sit on. We will also need smaller props such as classroom equipment, like pens and pencils
Phone: a scene in our film features characters receiving text messages as Facebook messages. We will be a mobile phone for these messages to be received on.
TV: there are a few scenes including the first shot, where the character is si7ng in front of a TV screen, watching a film. We also need the TV for when a news cast is being shown about the killer we feature.
