Laura’s Tractor Run

Report by Charlotte Groves

Laura's Tractor Run took place on Sunday 15th May and this year a whopping 102 tractors took part. Starting at Hopkins Farm in Tysoe, the route then passed through the villages of Shenington, Shutford, Hook Norton (where a pit-stop was enjoyed at The Gate Hangs High pub), Brailes, Whatcote, Oxhill and finally finishing at the sports field in Tysoe with a raffle, auction, refreshments and food from 'Happy Herefords'.

Laura Belcher set up the Tractor Run in 2019 to raise money for two cancer charities. Covid meant that it couldn't take place in 2020, but another successful run took place in 2021, once restrictions had eased, raising money for Cancer Research UK and a local Dementia Cafe.

This year, aproximately £6,500 was raised for charity. Laura's chosen charities were Cancer Research UK once again and also a mental health charity, specifically targeted at those in rural areas or living and working on farms. This is the Len Eadon charity https://leneadon.muchloved.com

A huge thank you to all who took part. In Laura's words it was a "dream come true" to see such a wonderful turnout. Roll on 2023!
