16th and 17th July 2022

Report & Photos by Kenny Wharton, www.kenpics.com

2022 saw the return of the rally, now in its 55th year. Gates opened 16th and 17th July with the public seeing over forty full size traction engines including showmans engines, road locos, steam wagons, steam rollers and even a pair of ploughing engines.

The event also included almost thirty miniature steam engines, many of which joined the full size engines in a parade around the show ring. Also being exhibited, were many vintage tractors commercial vehicles, motor cycles and land rovers.

Several working displays and events took place over the weekend, including a display of the Dancing Diggers put on by JC Balls and their JCBs. It was fantastic to see the original JCB1 performing with some of the newest JCBs.

Another popular event is calling for ladies of the public to have a go at driving a traction engine. The smiles on their faces say it all!

All profits from the rally go towards the upkeep of Masham Town Hall, and since moving to the show field at Marfield £60,000 has been raised.
