ABOUT MATTHEW Born and raised in the vibrant and culturally diverse city state of Singapore, I moved to Adelaide, Australia in 2012 to pursue an architectural education. Living in two different countries has exposed me cross-culturally and has played a great influenced on my character, thinking and perception of life. I recently graduated from the Masters of Architecture programme at the University of Adelaide and am seeking work. I developed a flair for architecture at the age of 12 and have since then decided to pursue this career. My passion allows me to be determined and hard working. I have the ability to pick up spatial concepts quickly and work effectively as a team member. I always aim to deliver my work with consistency and quality. Through the course of my degree, I have been thrust upon to rethink about creating holistic, meaningful spaces that are interdependent with the landscape/nature. I hope to use my knowledge in both fields to design well-thought projects. Creation through an experimental and hands-on approach has been an integral part of my design processes and I know it will continue as my career develops. I am also enthusiastic about vernacular and adaptive-reuse architecture, and how contemporary projects can be intertwined or adapted from them.
