CHAPEL H You will understand that here, even the sky is Carolina Blue!
Welcome to Chapel Hill — a town which sits on a lofty hill, shaded by ancient oak and poplar trees and familiar stone walls. Chapel Hill was named after the NEW HOPE CHAPEL, which stood upon a hill at the crossing of two primary roads, where THE CAROLINA INN currently stands today. It is home to the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT CHAPEL HILL , our nation’s first state university, which opened its doors in 1795. Nicknamed the “Southern Part of Heaven” Chapel Hill is a quintessential college town known for its natural beauty, cultural attractions, food scene and innovation. Chapel Hill 4 | 888. 968. 2060

COUNTY Orange County has deep historic roots in academia, not only as home to the University of North Carolina, but also as a home to the HILLSBOROUGH ACADEMY, B I N G H A M SCHOOL, and HUGHES ACADEMY.
Today, with over 140,000 residents, much of Orange County is rural with over 100 working farms. Many farmers bring their bounties to the four farmers’ markets or open their farms to pick your own ventures each year. Orange County is a special place. And it’s the diversity of our people that makes the county interesting and lively.
EFLAND | There are several unincorporated communities in Orange County. Along US Route 70 is Efland which is 5 miles east of Mebane and can be reached by exit 160 from interstate 85. A farming community, one of the prominent farms is McAdams Farm which was established in 1885 and is known for their strawberries, produce and cut flowers. There are many community events including the longrunning EFLAND RURITAN RODEO.
MEBANE | While mostly in Alamance County, Mebane has its eastern border in Orange County. Mebane’s LAKE MICHAEL PARK is a beautiful 200acre park with a 59-acre lake, boat rentals, nature trails, picnic area and covered shelters. Explore the beautiful countryside of Orange County.
