Located in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, Orange County is located between the Research Triangle Park and the Triad. With more than 150,000 residents, Orange County includes historic Hillsborough, the county seat; Chapel Hill, Carrboro, a portion of Mebane and other smaller communities.

Orange County was founded in 1752, and today much of the county remains rural with numerous working farms, many of which have diversified their offerings. Some include the Cedar Grove Blueberry Farm, Boxcarr Farms Handmade Cheese in Cedar Grove and the McAdams Farm in Efland known for their pick-your-own strawberries.

& UNC SPORTS UNC is home to 49 NCAA National Championship Teams. There are Varsity teams in 13 men’s and 15 women’s sports.
Men’s basketball is played in the Dean Smith Center. Don’t forget to drop by the nearby Carolina Basketball Museum. Carmichael Arena is home to UNC women’s basketball, volleyball, gymnastics and wrestling. The UNC Baseball team plays at Boshamer Stadium where fans can also enjoy the UNC Baseball Hall of Honor. Tar Heel Football takes the field in Kenan Memorial Stadium. Carolina Field Hockey’s home is the Karen Shelton Stadium on Ridge Road, while the men’s and women’s soccer and lacrosse teams play on Dorrance Field. The Track & Field Complex is at Finley Fields near the newly renovated Finley Golf Course. Softball plays in Anderson Stadium, while Swimming & Diving is in the Koury Natatorium.
