LIGHT EXHIBITION
THE INAUGURATION OF GALLERY 10
JANUARY - APRIL 2023
The art world is vast and the avenues for artists to show and sell artwork range from large museums to artist-run alternative spaces. There are a multitude of aspects to exhibition making and Gallery 10 is situated as a space for students to become familiar with curatorial methods by doing. As artists, understanding the depth and breadth of exhibition concept and design, project management, acquiring, installation, and educational outreach will set students up for success in Venture ArtistryTM. Arts Academy students engage in field trips with industry professionals, conduct research, and learn what it takes to work with and promote living artists, in doing so students will take on gallery roles with the common goal of enriching themselves, the NBPS community and beyond.
“Art is too important not to share”
- Romero Britto
Curating is when you select, organize, care for and present art for an audience.
Our curatorial team collaboratively conceptualizes each exhibition theme, involving artists from the NBPS lower, middle and high school classes and community partners.
Communication is How we involve the NBPS community in our shows.
We work closely with school marketing channels, web and social media platforms to share our artist’s vision.
Educational Outreach programs expand creative intelligence.
Developing, planning and delivering our programs allows us to learn alongside our audiences. Our work ties learning to our exhibitions and generates interactive experiences.
