There is nothing quite like the hustle and bustle of North Broward Fine Arts students and teachers busy at work. The line, however, between work and play, may become blurred as you peek in on a theatre class clowning around, a 3-D art class climbing to build upward, or a lower school music student improvising their first solo on the violin. These are the experiences that shape the development of young artists here at North Broward.
Our distinguished faculty of arts educators and teaching artists are committed to sharing their knowledge and passion for the arts in meaningful ways. Students find inspiration from the experiences curated by teachers both in the classroom and beyond those walls, through unique partnerships with Savannah College of Art and Design, Slow Burn Theatre Company, Florida Classical Ballet, and Adobe.
Our Arts Academy program paves the way for career minded student artists to dig more deeply into their discipline, preparing them for a future in the arts.
We are especially passionate about our collaboration with The Juilliard School. The Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Program enriches our performing arts curriculum and students’ learning with the artistic values, traditions, and expertise of Juilliard. We truly learn with Juilliard. Juilliard curriculum specialists,
teaching artists and touring performers visit NBPS regularly, inspiring our school community through workshops, masterclasses, and performances.
Here at North Broward Prep, we believe that wherever your passion lies, that is where hard work, collaboration, creativity, and excellence meet. It is our sincere hope that every student that passes through our program will grow in their abilities, passions, and appreciation of the arts and carry that with them forever.

Ms. Suárez has trained principal dancers and soloists of the finest dance companies, including San Fran cisco Ballet and Dutch National Ballet. She also regularly coaches dancers for interna tional ballet competitions such as the Prix de Lausanne and World Ballet Competition. At NBPS, she teaches Foundational Forms: Ballet and Advanced Ballet classes working extensively with our Arts Academy and advanced dancers.
Select NBPS dancers have the opportunity to perform the Florida Classical Ballet’s annu al production of The Nutcracker.
We want our students to develop the habit of excellence. We want them to strive to be more than just excellent dancers; we want them to bring a 'culture of excellence' to everything that they do, from their daily classes to the manner in which they give back to their community.
Our students create worlds: they ask questions, explore ideas and build meaning. Through this exploration they share their understandings with others, motivating broad conversations about art, our lives, our culture, and our beliefs.
We inspire our musicians to learn the skills of musical thinking, active listening, and connection making. We empower them to engage in meaningful collaborations with their community, transforming their lives and the lives of others.

We aim for our students to think about and go through the steps of the creative process: thinking and doing, focusing not just on the product, but the process. We create a safe environment that enables not only self-expression but also self-discovery.
The Arts Academy inspires tomorrow’s artists to make a positive impact on the world. We empower our career-minded artists with the dispositions and skills to achieve their goals beyond North Broward Preparatory School by focusing on artistic excellence; collaboration; venture artistry; and creative engagement with today’s audiences.
Arts Academy students train with professionals from our diverse faculty and staff to guest artists from top performing arts organizations. We offer pathways in art, dance, music, theatre, and interdisciplinary arts.
In addition to their academic schedule, students hone their skills and develop their unique artistic voice through their core arts classes and afterschool performances, productions, and competitions.
The North Broward Preparatory School Fine Arts Department is proud to offer scholarships that reduce tuition fees for students who excel in the arts. Fine Arts Scholarships are available in Art, Dance, Media, Music, and Theatre. Scholarships are awarded based upon the applicant’s entrance audition, interview, and academic records. They are valid for all four years of high school, contingent upon continually meeting the scholarship criteria. Need-based financial aid and academic achievement scholarships are also available.

The Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Program is a multifaceted collaboration that brings The Juilliard School’s philosophies of teaching dance, drama, and music to our classrooms. The program seeks to inspire and equip students with the creativity, curiosity, and cultural literacy to engage with the performing arts throughout their lives.
Our school community enjoys inspiring benefits of the program such as Juilliard alumni and Juilliard-affiliated artist visits; Juilliard developed embedded curriculum; Juilliard presented professional development for our faculty; and Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard.
The program connects the NBPS community with Juilliard’s worldwide network of performers, teaching artists, and curriculum specialists, providing us with workshops, master classes, professional development, and performances throughout the school year.
The program’s embedded arts curriculum features a Juilliard-curated repertoire of core works and categories that encompass a broad range of genres, styles, and cultures. Our students learn through engaging activities developed by Juilliard that help our students understand the language of the arts and develop creative skills such as improvisation and composition. Our outstanding teachers use the Juilliard Creative Classroom, an online resource of teaching materials, recordings, and videos that they can incorporate into their lessons to support your child in developing a deep understanding and engagement with the performing arts.
Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard offers immersive experiences in music, dance, and drama to students from around the world. With three tailored programs offered in Geneva, Florida, and Shanghai, students have a unique opportunity to engage with and learn from artist faculty from the Juilliard School, the world's leader in arts education.

Learning has no limits at Nord Anglia Education. The Global Campus connects our students with fellow students from 76 schools to collaborate, discuss and learn together every day. The Global Campus offers exceptional opportunities that empower, excite, inspire and challenge Nord Anglia Education students around the world.
Our students enjoy opportunities to ask Juilliard artists and alumni questions about the performing arts, and engage in challenges and competitions that develop skills such as collaboration, risk taking, resilience, and discipline.
Nord Anglia musicians from across the globe are encouraged to develop, share, and celebrate their artistry through a multitude of categories in both performance and music composition.
Visual artists from across our global family of schools create impactful art inspired by entries from the Nord Anglia Creative Writing Competition. The winning pieces are developed into a stunning anthology for our students to cherish as a memento of their work and that of their fellow students.
The Nord Anglia Performing Arts Festival is a dynamic program for young actors, dancers, and musicians from our family of schools. Nord Anglia performing artists are inspired by performances, unique workshops, collaborative projects, and rehearsals led by talented performers, including world-renowned artists affiliated with The Juilliard School.
Nord Anglia composers create an original composition for the Nord Anglia Performing Arts Festival inspired by the UNICEF Global Goals. Compositions will be selected to be performed live in concert.

North Broward Preparatory School’s artists benefit from even more life changing opportunities that we present annually. Our Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Choir performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City in March 2022. Our High School Musical was selected to perform at Indiana State University for the International Thespians Festival. A few other recent events include: 2020 Nord Anglia Performing Arts Festival, featuring unique dance, theatre, and music collaborations; 2019 Faces of U.S. Art Festival trip to Washington, DC, visiting National galleries and institutes of art tours and workshops; 2019 Dance Festival, in Los Angeles, CA; and the 2019 Nord Anglia Performing Arts Festival, which featured a gala performance at the New World Center in Miami.
We are proud to offer a robust private lesson program that complements and enhances our classroom curriculum. Our students benefit from a broad range of private lessons available in music, dance, theatre, and art. With lessons scheduled in-person or virtually either before, during or after school, our students develop their skills, technique, and artistry while accommodating their busy schedules.
Passionate about their art and teaching, our private lesson team is comprised of both full time North Broward faculty and adjunct teaching artists. Throughout the school year we host regular private lesson recitals that afford our students quality opportunities to display their skills in a comfortable and supportive setting. https://nbprep.com/private-lessons
In addition to traditional private lessons, we offer Suzuki violin, cello and guitar lessons. The Suzuki method uses the curriculum and teaching philosophy created by Japanese pedagogue Shinichi Suzuki. This philosophy of music education is known as the mother tongue method, where learning music parallels natural native language learning. This method works very well for the young child as parental involvement is paramount.
