‘Water resources are therefore a key business and planning challenge for hotel/resort facilities, specifically across three criteria - Cost, Availability and Quality.’ (2nd White Paper Tourism and Water, From Challenges to Solutions, EarthCheck Research Institute, March’14)

This concept proposal seeks to ensure Palau hotel/resort businesses future growth and sustainability, through securing long-term (15-Yrs) access to our natural fresh water supplies – we represent a region in the tropical South Pacific that has an abundance of fresh water to meet your facilities needs. Our region has strong potential to provide your hotel/resort operations with key strategic advantages in supporting your long-term sustainability: §

Ideal combinations of ground and surface water resources widely distributed across our regions,

§

Good water quality – good bacterial ratings; good chemical ratings (TDS below 1,500 PPM); common minerals - bicarbonate (anion), calcium and sodium (cations),

§

Our South Pacific regions are less populated and under-developed – offering you unpolluted (no industrial contaminants) natural fresh water supplies,

§

We enjoy plentiful and consistent rainfall (around 3,000 mm per year) and rank 16th globally for annual renewable water resources (801 km3 /Yr.).*

To further support Palau tourism facilities growth plans, we are able to provide additional advantages:

§ We are securing an alliance with a

leading Palau business group – who will personally manage all your facilities bulk water supplies,

§ Using innovative and purpose-

build WTBs* – we will have large volume supply capacity per delivery,

§ Our superior value chain –

abundant fresh water, low costs and innovative export systems /processes-will enable us to be considered a strategic supply chain member to your business. * Water Transport Bags

*This measures annual precipitation along with existing water resources in both surface and ground water systems

We aim to sustain our bulk water exports to meet Palau tourism industry needs into the future through creating a ‘water bank’ in order to deliver further strategic advantages: þ Lower unit (per gal) costs of water supplies þ Long-term (15-Yrs.) bulk water supply focus þ Lower distribution costs via innovative bulk bags þ Regional wide access to increase our water supplies In supporting Palau tourism industry growth plans, we provide mutual strategic benefits over the longer term (15-Yrs.) through a ‘water bank; model: §

Our regional ‘water bank’ will allow for your long-term water resource security to sustain growth in Palau tourism facilities and developments,

§

This will enable for our increased bulk water supply capacity to meet both the Palau tourism and other major developments,

§

Other strategic advantages we offer will include our closer proximity to Palau – sustainable water deliveries (lower costs); shared water potentials with other industry/businesses (e.g. agribusinesses);

§

Innovative bulk water transport bags will enable us to deliver regular (mega) volumes to assist Palau industry – enable establishment of other water-intensive manufacturing hubs (downstream- agri/food etc.).
