FOUNDED ON PARTNERSHIP, BUILT ON GOODWILL The school was founded in 1967 to cater to the growing number of Swiss companies who were transferring married Swiss specialists with families to Singapore. Originally open primarily to Swiss students, the school has since become an international meeting place where many nationalities, languages and cultures converge and enrich each other.
Not only was the school founded on Swiss Club land, but its founding fathers were also important members of the Swiss Club. The school, together with
the Swiss Club, soon became the hub of the Swiss community in Singapore. To this day, the school continues to enjoy the support of the Club, the Embassy and all the pillars of the Swiss community.
The founding of the school was made possible by the generous support of numerous Swiss companies, along with the ongoing patronage of the Canton of Zug. We continue to benefit from the extraordinarily generous educational and material support of this canton.
AN EXCEPTIONAL EDUCATION The remarkable dedication and resourcefulness of our pioneering Swiss teachers is reflected in the tireless efforts of today’s passionate teachers, who hail from Switzerland, Singapore and all over the world! The lifelong bond that former students and teachers share with the Swiss School is particularly heartwarming. A familiar place in a foreign land, the school is fondly remembered as a second home by its former students. Aside from its tranquil natural setting, the Swiss School in Singapore is only the second Swiss school with a French stream, and the only Swiss school abroad with a secondary section at a renowned international IB school.
We look forward to sharing the next 55 years with you in the green heart of Singapore!
EXPANSION OF OUR FRENCH STREAM Following the successful introduction of the Kindergarten class and Primary 3, 4 and 5 classes, we are delighted to be adding an additional Primary 1/2 class to our French Stream for the school year 2022/2023. We are completing our French Stream with the opening of a new Primary 6 class.
Introduced in 2019, our French Stream works in close collaboration with our partner canton, Valais, and uses differentiated, cooperative and student-based forms of learning to create joyful educational experiences.
