Dear friends, I’d like to welcome you to your 2015 Christian Guild brochure. And what a year it is going to be! We are celebrating 100 years of Christian Guild this year and have a packed programme of themed events taking place across our selection of fabulous hotels right up to Easter 2016. As well as events that look back at the past century, we’ll be looking forward by marking the occasion with tree planting and Centenary Grace at each hotel. Take a look at page 4 to see what special activities are taking place. As well as being known for our fantastic themed breaks, we last year introduced a concept called 'Stay As You Please'. This is an ideal way of staying at our collection of hotels and exploring them and the surrounding tourist destinations at your own pace and to suit your own tastes. I’m pleased to report that 'Stay As You Please' has been a great success, so we’re continuing it for 2015. And we’ve added even better value for guests who choose a 'Stay As You Please' break in January, February, March, November and December. Also last year, we introduced a new partnership with Ramblers Worldwide Holidays. Again, this was a fantastic success, and Ramblers will be using four of our hotels again in 2015. It is an exciting time of opening the doors of our venues to a wider range of holidaymakers. There have been a lot of improvements at our hotels in the past 12 months as we look to the future, and we’ve added TVs to the majority of our hotel rooms. Our commitment to providing the most comfortable places to stay means we’ve invested in making improvements across our hotels to provide better accommodation for you, our guest. With so much going on, 2015 is going to be an exciting year for Christian Guild. We look forward to you joining the celebrations while enjoying a fantastic break at any of our hotels. If you have a hobby or want to try a new experience, then our themed breaks are renowned for offering a fun-packed holiday. You can choose what you do on a themed break too. So if you decide to visit a local tourist attraction during your stay, that’s up to you – you’re not obliged to take part in every activity because it’s all about you doing what you enjoy when you take a well-earned break.

If you holiday alone, you’ll know that many hotels and holiday companies add a supplement to the advertised price if you’re on your own. But not at Christian Guild as we have a number of single rooms at each hotel, and at certain times of the year we have double and twin rooms as well without a single supplement.

If you decide to try a themed break, then you’ll get a much better deal if you opt for our package price. Book your break and your accommodation together and it’s cheaper than booking separately. It means you can enjoy high quality en-suite accommodation and all the cost of excursions, tuition, materials and even, in some cases, packed lunches are paid for in advance of your holiday. It’s a great way to save on your stay.

Celebrating the past – Planting for the future! As we celebrate the past, we're also looking forward to the future by planting a commemorative tree at each hotel, for all our guests to enjoy for many years to come. A commemorative plaque will record the Centenary at each planting.

And it’s no different with Christian Guild, where you are able to enjoy the luxury of our 15-metre pools at four of our hotels. Whether you want to unwind on an evening, or want to take your children for a bit of an early splash, our swimming pools are ideal. With a depth of just 1.4 metres, adults and children alike can enjoy the wonderful pools. For the younger children, we also offer shallow pools, so no-one need miss out. Those who prefer not to get their feet wet can still enjoy the serene setting with poolside seating and comfortable spectator viewing areas. With free towels for everyone, you really can relax no matter what the weather!

Terms & Conditions HOTEL BOOKING CONDITIONS a) Terms are per person per night, inclusive of VAT. b) Half Board includes dinner, bed and breakfast from evening meal on day of arrival to breakfast on day of departure. No allowance can be made for meals not taken. c) Special diets or other requirements will, whenever possible be catered for if Managers are informed when booking. d) No single room supplement is charged. However, the number of single rooms is limited and we reserve the right to restrict the number of double or twin rooms allowed for single occupancy. e) Guests unable to vacate the premises by themselves, in case of emergency, must be accompanied by friends or relatives. f) Car parking is entirely at the owner’s risk. g) Dogs or other pets cannot be taken, with the exception of registered assistance dogs for people with disabilities. h) We ask our customers not to bring or consume their own alcoholic drinks on the premises. i) Bookings should be made with the hotel of your choice. A non-refundable deposit of £50.00 per adult (£10 per child 5 years and over) per week or part thereof, is due with each booking, payments accepted by cheque, credit/debit card. Full payment is due one calendar month prior to the commencement of your stay. The deposit per lodge is £100; see lodge booking conditions below. j) Credit card payments will incur an additional charge of 1.5% k) Bookings generally can only be accepted for a type of room, eg. Superior, En-suite or Non en-suite. Specific room requests will be considered, however this will be subject to availability and hotel general manager

agreement. Acceptance of a booking with specific room request will incur a fee of £15 per room per week. (Not applicable to disability friendly bedrooms). l) VAT at 20% is included in the terms shown but will be charged at any changed rate applicable at the time of payment for the holiday. m) We reserve the right to alter our published Terms in extreme circumstances including changes in taxation. n) If in exceptional circumstances, we find that we are unable to offer the accommodation booked, a full refund will be given unless alternative accommodation is agreed. o) If we have to make a significant change or cancel a themed break we will tell you as soon as possible. You will be offered an alternative holiday or receive a full refund. Where our liability is limited we will not pay any expenses, costs or losses you may incur as a result of any change or cancellation. No compensation is payable for minor changes or where we cancel or make a significant change before the date of the balance of your holiday costs falls due. Minor changes do not entitle you to cancel or change to another holiday without paying our normal charges. p) The company reserves the right to charge guests for all damage to hotel property. LODGE BOOKING CONDITIONS The above hotel booking conditions apply as appropriate to lodge bookings. Terms are per lodge per night, inclusive of VAT, on a self-catering basis with a minimum stay of three nights except as indicated elsewhere in this brochure. The deposit payable per lodge is £100 and payments should be made in accordance with our hotel booking conditions. BOOKINGS All bookings should be made direct to the hotel of your choice. INSURANCE When you book a holiday you are entering into a legally binding contract, which, if cancelled or curtailed, will incur a cancellation charge. The company does not offer any form of holiday insurance or cancellation cover. As a Christian organisation we feel it important, and would strongly recommend, that all guests comprehensively insure their holiday against all eventualities with an insurer of their choice. Guests from outside the UK must be covered by adequate insurance covering cancellation, sickness, accident or other misfortune. CANCELLATION Should you, or any member of your party, be forced to cancel your booking for any reason you should notify the manager of the hotel concerned in writing at the earliest opportunity, enclosing any relevant and supporting documentation. A cancellation will take effect from the date written notice is received by the company. Cancellations will incur the following payments: • One calendar month or more before arrival: Deposit only. • Less than one calendar month before arrival: Two thirds. • Less than 48 hours before arrival: Full cost of holiday (no refund). Deposits are non-refundable. All refund amounts detailed above will be calculated after deduction of the deposit paid. If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of your holiday insurance policy you may be able to reclaim these charges.
